Olefins and methods for making the same
Provided herein are olefinic feedstocks derived from conjugated hydrocarbon terpenes (e.g., C.sub.10-C.sub.30 terpenes), methods for making the same, and methods for their use.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR WATER-BASED COMPOSITIONS
A lubricant composition includes (a) a hydrocarbon oil including at least 30%wt of isoparaffins, based on the total weight of the hydrocarbon oil, and (b) an alkoxylated natural oil. A method of using the lubricant composition in a water- based composition, in particular a water-based mud, to improve the lubricity and/or to reduce the foaming properties of the water-based composition is also disclosed.
TiO.SUB.2 .catalyst in ketonisation reactions to produce RBO
A method for producing a renewable base oil from a feedstock of biological origin includes providing a feedstock, the feedstock including: 2-95 wt % of a mixture of free fatty acids; 5-98 wt % fatty acid glycerols selected from mono-glycerides, di-glycerides and tri-glycerides of fatty acids; 0-50 wt % of one or more compounds selected from the list consisting of: fatty acid esters of the non-glycerol type, fatty amides and fatty alcohols; a major part of the feedstock being a mixture of free fatty acids and fatty acid glycerols; subjecting all or part of the feedstock to ketonisation reaction conditions where two free fatty acids react to yield a ketone stream, and subjecting the ketone stream to both hydrodeoxygenation and to hydroisomerisation reaction conditions, to yield a deoxygenated and isomerised base oil product stream containing the renewable base oil.
OLEFINS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
Provided herein are olefinic feedstocks derived from conjugated hydrocarbon terpenes (e.g., C.sub.10-C.sub.50 terpenes), methods for making the same, and methods for their use.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING A FLUOROOLEFIN
The present invention relates to compositions for use in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump systems wherein the composition comprises a fluoroolefin and at least one other component. The compositions of the present invention are useful in processes for producing cooling or heat, as heat transfer fluids, foam blowing agents, aerosol propellants, and fire suppression and fire extinguishing agents.
Furniture lubricant
A furniture lubricant for coating a linear lacquered furniture slide bar to provide a slide layer with lowered friction. The furniture lubricant comprises a C10 to C28 alkane and a tri-glyceride. The viscosity, according to ISO 3104:1994/COR 1:1997, of the furniture lubricant at 40° C. is 20 to 80 mm.sup.2/s.
METHOD FOR CREATING WHITE ALKANES FROM NON-PETROLEUM RENEWABLE SOURCES
The present invention describes a method to produce high purity hydrocarbon materials from renewable sources. The produced materials are chemically indistinguishable from highly refined mineral oils and/or synthetic hydrocarbons. These renewable hydrocarbon materials can be used as a drop-in replacement for mineral and synthetic hydrocarbon base oils, process fluids, white oils in products such as lubricants, rubber, personal care, pharma.
Compositions for Engine Carbon Removal from Lubricated Components
The engine lubricating system can become contaminated with carbon deposits and sludge. Sludge is where the combustion by-products that have entered the oil base saturate this oil base, thus forming a thick carbon rich substance. Sludge is not wanted within the engine. Sludge and or carbon deposits in the motor oil cause problems. Such carbon deposits form in the motor oil from heat, pressure, and namely combustion gases that have leaked pasted the piston rings. Turpentine and terpenes, hereafter referred to as “terpenes”, have shown that these chemicals can breakdown carbon which has been deposited within the engine's oil base.
HEAT TRANSFER PROCESS
A heat transfer process using a composition containing hydro(chloro)fluoroolefins. A heat transfer process that successively includes a step of evaporation of a refrigerant, a step of compression, a step of condensation of said refrigerant at a temperature greater than or equal to 70° C. and a step of expansion of said refrigerant characterized in that the refrigerant includes at least one hydrofluoroolefin having at least four carbon atoms represented by the formula (I) R.sup.1CH═CHR.sup.2 in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently represent alkyl groups having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, substituted with at least one fluorine atom, optionally with at least one chlorine atom.
Alphaolefin oligomer having uniform structure and method of preparing same
The present invention relates to an alphaolefin oligomer having a uniform structure and a method of preparing the same, in which the alphaolefin oligomer has a uniform molecular structure with a low branch ratio, thereby exhibiting improved thermal and oxidative stability, a long service life, low volatility, a low pour point and a high viscosity index.
