Refrigerating machine oil, and working fluid composition for refrigerating machines
The present invention provides a refrigerating machine oil comprising, as a base oil, a polymer having a structural unit represented by the following formula (1): ##STR00001##
wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, which may be the same as or different from each other, represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group; and R.sup.4 represents a hydrocarbon group or an organic group containing an oxygen atom, and having a number average molecular weight Mn of 300 or more and 3000 or less and a ratio of a weight-average molecular weight Mw to a number average molecular weight Mn (Mw/Mn) of 1.10 or more and 2.00 or less, and the refrigerating machine oil being used with a refrigerant selected from the group consisting of difluoromethane, a mixture of difluoromethane and pentafluoroethane, a mixture of difluoromethane, pentafluoroethane and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, a mixture of pentafluoroethane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and 1,1,1-trifluoroethane, unsaturated hydrofluorocarbons, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide.
Use of O/W emulsions for chain lubrication
The invention relates to the use of an O/W emulsion, in particular a PIT emulsion, for lubricating conveyor belt systems in food industries as well as a lubricant concentrate based on an O/W emulsion, in particular a PIT emulsion, of wax esters.
Branched fatty acids and esters thereof
The present invention relates to a composition of branched fatty acids or esters thereof, the process for preparing such a composition and its use in various industrial fields, such as in lubricant, in cosmetics and in home care. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition comprising at least 30% by weight of polybranched C.sub.10-C.sub.24 fatty acids or esters thereof, and a cyclic compound content ranging from 1% to 8% by weight, the weight percentage being given on the total weight of the composition.

Wax ester compositions and methods of manufacture
Implementations of wax ester compositions may include: a product of transesterifying oleyl oleate, stearyl stearate, and behenyl behenate using one of a chemical or an enzyme catalyst. The ratio of the oleyl oleate to stearyl stearate to behenyl behenate in the mixture prior to transesterification is one of 65%/23%/12%, 56%/29%/15%, or 36%/34%/30%, respectively, measured by weight. The product may demonstrate a substantially equivalent physical property to a physical property of a transesterified wax ester composition including a jojoba ester.
GREASE COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AND METHODS OF PREPARING AND USING THE SAME
The present disclosure provides a grease composition with improved water resistance and mechanical stability at high-temperatures, including: at least one base oil; a water insoluble thickener; and a low molecular weight thixotropic polyamide composition having molecular weight distribution characteristics meeting the requirement described by the relationship:
where A=the % mass of the polyamide composition with a molecular weight greater than 1700 AMU; B=the % mass of the polyamide composition with a molecular weight between 1100 AMU and 1300 AMU; C=the % mass of the polyamide composition with a molecular weight between 700 AMU and 1000 AMU; and D=the % mass of the polyamide composition with a molecular weight of 600 AMU or lower (determined by GPC). The grease composition of the present disclosure provides a less than 50 penetration point change as determined by ASTM-D7342, a less than 10 mg weight loss as determined by ASTM-D4170, or both.
Ethylene/α-olefin copolymers and lubricating oils
The invention has an object of providing ethylene/-olefin copolymers having high randomness and a small number of double bonds in the copolymers. The ethylene/-olefin copolymers of the invention are obtained by copolymerizing ethylene and an -olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst which includes a bridged metallocene compound (A) represented by the formula [I], and at least one compound (B) selected from organometallic compounds (B-1), organoaluminum oxy compounds (B-2) and compounds (B-3) capable of reacting with the bridged metallocene compound (A) to form an ion pair, and have a specific weight average molecular weight, a specific molecular weight distribution, a specific glass transition point and a specific value B. ##STR00001##
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION COMPRISING TRACTION COEFFICIENT ADDITIVE
The present invention relates to a lubricant composition suitable for use in an electric vehicle. The lubricant composition comprises a traction coefficient additive and wherein the traction coefficient additive is an ester, said ester being the reaction product of at least one saturated branched-chain aliphatic monohydric alcohol having between 12 and 32 carbon atoms and at least one aliphatic carboxylic acid having between 6 and 32 carbon atoms. The lubricant composition as described herein provides an electric vehicle gear oil and imparts desirable coefficient of traction properties when in use.
LOW ASH LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS FOR CONTROLLING STEEL CORROSION
This disclosure describes low ash lubricating composition achieving passing steel corrosion, passing high temperature deposit formation, and emulsion stability. The lubricating compositions include one or more select corrosion or rust inhibitor chemistries having an oil-soluble acyclic structure with acidic, hydroxy, or amine moieties but being free of imine, imide, and/or amidine moieties.
