Fatty amine ethoxylate in polyalkylene glycol based engine oils
A composition contains a polyalkylene glycol and a fatty amine ethoxylate, the fatty amine ethoxylate having non-cyclic structure of structure (I). Where R is a linear, non-cyclic carbon-containing group with that is free of nitrogen, x and y are selected from a group consisting of zero and positive values provided that the sum of x and y are in a range of 8-20. ##STR00001##
Multilayered sliding member and rack-and-pinion type steering apparatus for automobile using the same
A rack-and-pinion type steering apparatus 1 comprises a gear case 3 made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and having a hollow portion 2; a steering shaft 6 rotatably supported by the gear case 3 through rolling bearings 4 and 5; a pinion 7 which is provided integrally on a shaft end portion of the steering shaft 6 and is rotatably supported in the hollow portion 2 by the gear case 3 through the steering shaft 6; a rack bar 9 on which rack teeth 8 meshing with the pinion 7 are formed; a rack guide 10 which is disposed in the hollow portion 2 of the gear case 3 and supports the rack bar 9 slidably; and a spring 11 constituted by a coil spring for pressing the rack guide 10 toward the rack bar 9.
Component-replaceable water ring vacuum pump
Disclosed is a component-replaceable water ring vacuum pump in which inner components within a head unit may be disassembled and replaced without separation of the head unit from a main body, thus shortening an operation time and improving operation efficiency through prevention of leakage of an inner liquid during a replacement process. The water ring vacuum pump includes a main body provided with a shaft, a rotor rotated together with the shaft within the main body, a head unit coupled to both sides of the main body, a guide bearing provided within the head unit, and a mechanical seal configured to block inner gas. A bearing bracket to support the guide bearing is detachably fastened to one side of the head unit by a bolt, and an inner cap and an outer cap are assembled to the inner and outer surfaces of the bearing bracket by fixing bolts.
LUBRICANT AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME
A lubricant, including, by weight: 80-85 parts of a base oil; 1-2 parts of a methyl-silicone oil; 1-2 parts of polymethacrylate; 2-4 parts of pentaerythritol polyisobutylene succinate; 1-2 parts of di-n-butyl phosphite; 2-3 parts of butylhydroxytoluene; 2-4 parts of an ethylene-propylene copolymer; 1-2 parts of an alkenyl succinate; and 3-5 parts of copper nanoparticles. A method of preparing the lubricant includes: adding the base oil, the methyl-silicone oil, the polymethacrylate, the ethylene-propylene copolymer, the butylhydroxytoluene, the alkenyl succinate to a reactor, and stirring a resulting first mixture under normal temperature and pressure at 300-400 rpm for 3-4 hours, to yield a primary product; and adding the di-n-butyl phosphite, the pentaerythritol polyisobutylene succinate, and the copper nanoparticles to the primary product, and stirring a resulting second mixture at 150-250 rpm for 2-2.5 hours.
USE OF POLYESTERS AS VISCOSITY INDEX IMPROVERS FOR AIRCRAFT HYDRAULIC FLUIDS
The invention is related to a composition for use in hydraulic systems of an aircraft. The composition typically comprises an adipic acid-based polyester in a phosphate ester base stock substantially consisting of trialkyl phosphates.
MULTIPHASE COMPOSITE LUBRICANT
A multiphase composite lubricant for a railway lubricant stick that can be used in both low and high temperature applications. The composition of the multiphase composite lubricant includes an amount of a lubricant, an amount of a thermoplastic lattice components that forms a lattice structure, and a polymer extender.
Corrosion inhibition
The present invention relates to a method of inhibiting corrosion experienced during use of a base oil or lubricant by the addition of a polyester corrosion inhibitor. More especially, the polyester corrosion inhibitor is the reaction product of an alk(en)yl substituted succinic anhydride wherein the average number of succinic groups per alk(en)yl group is less than 3.0, and at least one polyol. There is also provided a composition comprising such a polyester corrosion inhibitor and use of such a composition as a corrosion inhibitor, as well as a base oil or lubricant comprising such a polyester corrosion inhibitor.
Organic Anti-Wear Additive Compositions for Lubricants
Improved organic anti-wear additive compositions are disclosed containing certain citric acid esters, e.g., mixtures comprising citrate oligomers, and fatty acid alkanolamides. The combination exhibits excellent and synergistic anti-wear activity in lubricants. The compositions of the invention beneficially allow one to reduce amounts of zinc and phosphorus that are often used in lubricants, while boosting anti-wear performance and maintaining, and often enhancing, friction reduction properties.
Emulsifier for use in lubricating oil
The present disclosure relates to emulsifying agents produced from succinic acids or anhydrides and polyalkylene glycols. The present disclosure also relates to lubricating oils containing such emulsifying agents. The emulsifying agent provides a lubricating oil that is substantially free of an aqueous layer after about 24 hours when tested according to ASTM D7563-10.
Metal working fluid additive composition
An industrial fluid additive composition comprises one or more sequestering agents one or more compounds of formula (A): (A) wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently selected from substituted hydrocarbyl moieties containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl moieties containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms.
