Coating solutions, coatings formed therefrom, and coated medical devices
A method of making a coating solution includes the steps of polymerising an initial monomer feed comprising an N-vinyl pyrrolidone and an acrylate, preferably methacrylate, salt in water to synthesise a copolymer thereof, acidifying the resulting copolymer-water mixture to give free carboxylic acid groups along the copolymer backbone, diluting the aqueous solution down with alcohol, and adding a cross-linking agent which is capable of reacting with the carboxylic acid groups and curing the copolymer at a later stage after the coating solution has been applied to a substrate and the copolymer coated thereon. Also disclosed are a coating solution in storage, a method of coating a substrate which is on, or is part of, a medical device or other article, a substrate, article or medical device having a coating so applied, and a coated medical device packaged in a hydration solution. The aqueous-alcoholic coating solution may be stored for an extended period, suitably for at least one month and desirably for substantially longer, without deteriorating.
Electro-Rheological Fluid Composition and Cylinder Device
A task of the present invention is to provide an electro-rheological fluid composition and a cylinder device which allow a large ER effect to be obtained, while reducing a current density. An electro-rheological fluid composition (8) of the present invention includes a fluid (32) and a particle (28) having an ion conductivity, the particle (28) having the ion conductivity has a first layer (29) forming a surface of the particle (28) and a second layer (30) forming a part of the particle (28) interior to the first layer (29), and an ion conductivity of the first layer (29) is lower than an ion conductivity of the second layer (30).

This disclosure relates to a lubricant powder composition that is made from a combination of wax, grease thickener, and additives. The lubricant powder composition exhibits low frictional, and improved mechanical stability in high temperature environments. Grease composition and rolling bearing
A grease composition includes base oil, a thickener, and an inorganic additive. The base oil is a poly--olefin having a base oil kinematic viscosity of 15 to 50 mm.sup.2/s at 40 C. The thickener is a diurea expressed by Structural Formula (1). The content of the thickener is 10 to 22 mass % with respect to the total amount of the base oil and the thickener. The inorganic additive is a mixture containing sepiolite and bentonite, and is organically modified. The content of the inorganic additive is 2 to 20 mass % with respect to the total amount of the base oil and the thickener.
