ALKYLPHENOL DETERGENTS
The disclosed technology provides alkylphenol-containing detergent having at least one unit (a) of an alkyl-substituted phenol wherein the alkyl group is derived from oligomers of an olefin compound containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms, wherein the polyolefin-derived alkyl group comprises at least 30 mol percent of an olefin with 4 or more carbon atoms. The invention further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device with the lubricant composition.
Lubricant base oil and lubricating oil composition
A lubricant base oil composed of an ester. The ester includes a component (A) derived from trimethylolpropane in a molar percentage A.sub.mol % of 25 to 42 mol %; components (B) derived from monovalent straight-chain saturated fatty acids each having a carbon number of 8 to 12 in a molar percentage B.sub.mol % of 33 to 55 mol %: and a component (C) derived from adipic acid in a molar ratio C.sub.mol % of 12 to 34 mol %. The components (B) include lauric acid in a molar percentage of 5 to 50 mol %, and (B.sub.COOH+C.sub.COOH)/A.sub.OH is 0.90 to 1.02. A.sub.OH represents a hydroxyl equivalent of the component (A), B.sub.COOH represents a carboxyl group equivalent of the components (B); and C.sub.COOH represents a carboxyl group equivalent of the component (C).
GREASE COMPOSITION AND USE OF GREASE COMPOSITION
Provided is a grease composition which contains (A) a mixed base oil containing (A1) a low-viscosity base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40 C. of 10 to 50 mm.sup.2/s and (A2) a high-viscosity base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40 C. of 200 to 700 mm.sup.2/s, (B) a lithium-based thickener and (C) a polymer having a kinematic viscosity at 100 C. of 1,000 to 100,000 mm.sup.2/s, and has an apparent viscosity at 10 C., as measured according to JIS K2220:2013 and at a shear rate of 10 s.sup.1, of 50 to 250 mPa.Math.s. The grease composition is excellent in pumpability and is also excellent in wear resistance under poor lubrication conditions.
Low Zinc Lubricant Composition
The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for compression ignition internal combustion engines, particularly those demonstrating at least one of improved seals performance, reduced deposit formation, and excellent durability. The present invention provides a low zinc lubricating composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a borated dispersant, and (c) a metal-free organo-phosphorus anti-wear additive, wherein the lubricating composition is substantially free of a metal containing sulfur coupled alkyl phenol compound. Further, the low zinc lubricating composition contains zinc in an amount less than 600 ppm by weight of the composition.
Seal swell agents for lubrication compositions
The invention relates to a seal swell agent which is a substituted sulfonyldibenzene compound, and lubricating compositions containing the seal swell agent. The substituents on the benzene rings may be hydrocarbyl groups of 4 to 20 carbon atoms or alkylene groups of 1-2 carbon atoms with further functional groups.
Lubricant compositions for direct injection engines
The invention is directed to a method for reducing low speed pre-ignition events in a spark-ignited direct injection internal combustion engine by supplying to the sump a lubricant composition which contains an oil of lubricating viscosity and an overbased sodium detergent. The metal overbased detergent may be selected from sulfonate detergents, phenate detergents, and salicylate detergents, including sulfonate detergents with a metal ratio of at least 5.
GEAR OIL COMPOSITION FOR AUTOMOBILE, AND LUBRICATION METHOD
Disclosed are a gear oil composition for automobiles containing at least (A) a base oil, (B) a sulfur-based extreme pressure agent, and (C) a phosphorus-based extreme pressure agent and satisfying specific requirements (i) and (ii), which is excellent in seizing resistance and wear resistance and also in fuel-saving performance, and a lubrication method using the gear oil composition.
Gun oil composition
A gun oil composition adapted specifically for the needs and requirements of modern firearms. The gun oil composition improves lubricity and gun performance under normal and extreme heat and pressure, minimizes and largely prevents the build-up of carbon and debris fouling on metal and non-metal components of the firearm, and substantially reduces cleaning time, while providing increased protection against environmental components such as dust, dirt and rust. The gun oil composition can include a base oil having at least a high viscosity index, an oil having at least a medium viscosity index with a detergent additive, a low viscosity penetrating oil, and a sulfurized ester.
Lubricant for water based drilling fluid
The invention relates an additive composition for a drilling fluid, as well as a method of increasing the lubricity and reducing the coefficient of friction of a drilling fluid. The additive composition may further contain a sulfurized olefin and/or a metal dithiophosphate compound, which further enhances the lubricating effect.
Coiled-tubing fluid-lubricant composition and related methods
A method for performing a coiled-tubing process, the method having the steps: performing a coiled-tubing process using a fluid-lubricant composition that includes a sulfur-containing compound, and introducing the fluid-lubricant composition into a subterranean wellbore casing.
