LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition with high thermal stability, corrosion resistance, and extreme-pressure performance is provided. The present invention have been completed by finding that a lubricating oil composition containing a particular primary aliphatic polysulfide has excellent thermal stability and extreme-pressure performance. A lubricating oil composition containing a base oil and an additive agent, wherein an aliphatic polysulfide constitutes as an additive agent 1% to 10% by mass of the lubricating oil composition, and a primary aliphatic polysulfide constitutes 1% to 50% by mass of the aliphatic polysulfide.
Lubricating composition for and method of lubricating an internal combustion engine
The invention provides a lubricating composition comprising a low viscosity base oil and a synergistic mixture of a functionalized ethylene-α-olefin copolymer, a poly(meth)acrylate polymer, and a metal-free anti-wear agent. The invention also provides a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine using such a lubricating composition.
Lubricant with high pyrophosphate level
A lubricant composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.01 to 5 percent by weight of a substantially sulfur-free alkyl phosphate amine salt, where at least 30 mole percent of the phosphorus atoms are in an alkyl pyrophosphate salt structure, exhibits good antiwear performance. In the phosphate amine salt, at least 80 mole percent of the alkyl groups are typically secondary alkyl groups of 3 to 12 carbon atoms.
Lubricant composition
Lubricant compositions comprising a base oil, one or more antioxidants selected from a group consisting of N-α-naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants and diphenylamine antioxidants; and a sulfur-containing additive comprising up to seven carbon atoms exhibit outstanding oxidative stability and non-corrosion properties. The N-α-naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants plus diphenylamine antioxidants in total may be present from about 0.2 wt % to about 0.8 wt %, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition. The sulfur provided by the sulfur-containing additive may be present from about 50 ppm to about 1000 ppm by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.

The disclosed technology relates to a lubricant composition for automotive gears, axles and bearings, the lubricant composition containing an oil of lubricating viscosity and a metal thiophosphate compound, such as zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, as well as a method of obtaining extreme pressure performance in automotive gears, axles and bearings at lower sulfur content than is typical, by lubricating such automotive gears, axles and bearings with a lubricant composition containing a metal thiophosphate compound, such as zinc dialkyldithiophosphate.
Method Of Lubricating An Internal Combustion Engine
The disclosed technology provides a method of lubricating a compression-ignition internal combustion engine with a maximum laden mass over 2,700 kg comprising supplying to the engine a lubricating composition comprising: an oil of lubricating viscosity, a 300 TBN or higher alkaline earth metal sulfonate detergent having a metal ratio of 10 to 40, an alkaline earth metal sulfonate detergent having a metal ratio of 3 to 9, and a TBN of 81 to 180 mg KOH/g, wherein the sulfonate detergents provide a total amount of sulfonate substrate of 1 wt % to 3 wt % of the lubricating composition, 0.1 to 1.2 wt % of antioxidant, wherein at least 20 wt % of the antioxidant is a phenolic antioxidant, a borated compound present in an amount to deliver 25 ppm to 300 ppm of boron, the lubricating composition has a sulfated ash content of 0.5 wt % to not more than 1.5 wt %, and the lubricating composition has a TBN of 6.5 to 15 mg KOH/g.
Grease composition for constant velocity joints
A grease composition is intended primarily for use in constant velocity joints (CV joints), especially ball joints and/or tripod joints, which are used in the driveline of motor vehicles. The grease composition for use in constant velocity joints comprises at least one base oil, at least one thickener, zinc sulfide, as well as molybdenum disulfide and/or tungsten disulfide. Further, a constant velocity joint comprises the grease composition.
