The technology more particularly relates to the use of azole compounds capable of inhibiting corrosion of the electrically conductive componentry in the vapor space above a lubricant composition, and often in the liquid phase of the lubricant composition as well.

The N-α-naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants plus diphenylamine antioxidants in total may be present from about 0.2 wt % to about 0.8 wt %, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition. The sulfur provided by the sulfur-containing additive may be present from about 50 ppm to about 1000 ppm by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.

The synthetic wax emulsion may include poly(ethyleneoxide)-based or poly(propyleneoxide)-based wax emulsions. The amine derivative may include alkyl C.sub.12-C.sub.14 oxy propyl diamine. The lubricant composition can be used for lubricating the passage of a container along a conveyor. The method includes applying the lubricant composition to at least a part of the container or the conveyor in an application cycle, where the application cycle includes a first period of time of dispensing the lubricant composition and a second period of time of not dispensing the lubricant composition.

LUBRICATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN OXYALKYLATED HYDROCARBYL PHENOL

The invention further relates to the use of the oxyalkylated hydrocarbyl phenol in the lubricating composition to a passenger car internal combustion engine at least one of (i) control of fuel economy, (ii) control of corrosion, (iii) cleanliness, and (iv) control of bore wear.

Lubricant compositions for direct injection engines

The invention is directed to a method for reducing low speed pre-ignition events in a spark-ignited direct injection internal combustion engine by supplying to the sump a lubricant composition which contains an oil of lubricating viscosity and an ashless antioxidant. The ashless antioxidant may be selected from phenolic compounds, aryl amine compounds, and sulfurized olefins, especially 2,6-hindered phenols and diarylamine compounds.

The invention also provides a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine using such a lubricating composition.

Zinc-free lubricating composition

The invention is directed to a zinc-free lubricating composition for an internal combustion engine containing a phosphorus anti-wear agent, an ashless antioxidant, and a metal-free basic detergent. The lubricating composition provides wear protection, deposit control, and improved acid control with reduced levels of metal-containing additives.
