HYDRAULIC FLUID
The present invention provides a hydraulic fluid comprising: (a) 40 to 2000 ppm by weight in terms of nitrogen content of a corrosion inhibiting agent which is one or more compounds of formula (I):
##STR00001## and/or tribologically acceptable salts thereof, wherein in formula (I): each R.sup.1 is independently a hydrocarbyl group comprising 1 to 10 carbon atoms, x is 0 to 4, each of R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is independently hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R.sup.4 is —NR.sup.5R.sup.6 or —OR.sup.7, each of R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 is independently an aryl group comprising 6 to 14 carbon atoms, optionally substituted with one or more hydrocarbyl groups comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R.sup.7 is a hydrocarbyl group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and in each of said hydrocarbyl groups containing 2 or more carbon atoms, the carbon chain may, independently, optionally be interrupted by one or more ether groups; (b) 0.1 to 1% by weight of an ashless dispersant; and (c) a major amount of a base oil.
Rust-Preventive Composition and Automobile Component
Provided is a rust-preventive composition showing excellent rust-preventive performance for plate joining parts such as doors of automotive bodies, the composition having sufficient corrosion resistance and being capable of preventing dripping from automotive bodies. A rust-preventive composition including: a rust-preventive additive; a wax having a melting point within the range of 60° C. to 130° C. selected from microcrystalline waxes and polyethylene-based or polypropylene-based synthetic waxes; bentonite; a hydrogenated oil; and two or more kinds of diluents having different viscosities; the rust-preventive additive being contained in an amount within the range of 12% by mass to 39% by mass with respect to the total composition, the bentonite being contained in an amount within the range of 2% by mass to 6% by mass with respect to the total composition, the wax being contained in an amount within the range of 3% by mass to 13% by mass with respect to the total composition.
LUBRICANT OIL COMPOSITION, DIESEL ENGINE WITH MOUNTED SUPERCHARGER, AND METHOD FOR USING LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition may include a base oil (A), succinimide (B) which has not been modified with boron, succinimide (C) modified with boron, a metallic detergent (D), and an antioxidant (E), wherein the ratio of the content of boron atoms derived from ingredient (C) to the content of nitrogen atoms derived from ingredients (B) and (C), B/N, is 0.30 or less by mass, the lubricating oil composition satisfying requirement (I) and/or requirement (II). Requirement (I): Ingredient (D) includes a metallic detergent (D1) having a base value less than 100 mgKOH/g. Requirement (II): Ingredient (E) includes an amine-based antioxidant (E1), the content of ingredient (E1) being 1.00 mass % or less.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition which may contain a zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate, and whose color deterioration over time is alleviated. Such a lubricating oil composition may contain: a base oil (A); a zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate (B); and a sodium-based detergent (C). In such a lubricating oil composition, a content of zinc atoms may be 100 ppm by mass to 2,000 ppm by mass based on a total amount of the lubricating oil composition, and a content of sodium atoms may be 5 ppm by mass to 1,000 ppm by mass based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.
BALL SCREW GREASE COMPOSITION FOR RACK-ASSISTED ELECTRIC POWER STEERING
This ball screw grease composition for a rack-assisted electric power steering contains a thickener, a base oil, and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a Ca sulfonates, fatty acids, and triglycerides, wherein the kinematic viscosity of the base oil at 40° C. is 4-100 mm2/s, and the worked penetration of the composition is 265-385.
Method of Limiting Chemical Degradation due to Nitrogen Dioxide Contamination
An additive composition for limiting the chemical degradation of hydrocarbonaceous liquids due to nitrogen dioxide contamination at elevated temperature comprises the combination of an ionic liquid composed of a cation and a boron- and halogen-free, multi-functional anion and a detergent additive, the combination of ionic liquid and detergent serving to inhibit the nitration of hydrocarbonaceous liquid components that initiates degradation.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF LUBRICATING DRIVELINE DEVICE
The present invention relates to a lubricating composition containing: an oil of lubricating viscosity, a non-borated dispersant, a detergent, and an antiwear package comprising (a) a derivative of a hydroxycarboxylic acid, (b) an amine salt of a phosphoric acid ester, and (c) a phosphite having at least one hydrocarbyl group with 4 or more carbon atoms. The invention further provides for a method of lubricating a driveline device application by employing a lubricating composition containing the antiwear package.
HIGH CONDUCTIVITY FLUID FOR AIR COMPRESSOR APPLICATIONS
The disclosed technology relates to a lubricant composition containing a polyalkylene glycol in which greater than 50% of the repeating units in the polyalkylene glycol contain an alkylene oxide derived moiety comprising a C4 or greater alkyl group. The lubricant compositions are particularly useful in compressors, such as a reciprocating rotary vane, scroll, or rotary screw air compressor.
GREASE COMPOSITION FOR LUBRICATING RESINS AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DEVICE
The invention provides a grease composition for lubricating resins which contains a base oil, a diurea compound represented by formula (I) as a thickener: R.sup.1—NHCONH —R.sup.2—NHCONH—R.sup.3 (I) (wherein R.sup.2 represents a bivalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 15 carbon atoms, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 each independently represent a straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 8 to 22 carbon atoms), and a chained hydrocarbon polymer having a weight-average molecular weight of 20,000 to 300,000.

Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition. The lubricating oil composition contains a lubricating base oil including mineral base oil, 4 to 15 mass % of an ester compound of a monovalent or polyvalent aliphatic carboxylic acid and a monovalent or polyvalent aliphatic alcohol, 400 to 1200 mass ppm of zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate in terms of a phosphorus element, 500 to 3000 mass ppm of a calcium-based detergent in terms of a calcium element, and 50 to 1000 mass ppm of a boron-modified succinimide-based dispersant in terms of a boron element, on the basis of the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.
