ULTRA-LOW FRICTION MATERIALS FOR LUBRICATING SURFACES, DEVICES THEREWITH, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE THEREOF
A polymeric material mixture comprising a fluorine-containing polymer, a siloxane polymer, and at least two polymer processing additives (PPA), wherein the at least two polymer processing additives have different chemistries. For example, there can be a flexible coextruded pipe for providing a protective housing for cables, fluids, sludge or solids, the pipe comprising a pair of telescopically related inner and outer layers, where said inner layer is lubricated with the polymeric material mixture.
Compositions for an methods of lubricating carcass conveyor
An improved method for applying an electrically charged lubricant on an oppositely charged carcass trolley in a meat packing plant meeting the requirements of (1) adequate lubricity, (2) “drip-resistance,” (3) safety, (4) rust resistance, (5) economy of manufacture and use, and (6) the ability to be removed by cleaning methods is provided by preparing a mixture of mineral oil, a fatty acid, a silicone oil, and a polybutene, each being acceptable for incidental contact with food.
Hydrofluoroolefins-containing refrigerant composition
A hydrofluoroolefins-containing refrigerant composition is disclosed. The composition includes the following ingredients in part by weight: 50-90 parts of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, 5-30 parts of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, and 5-20 parts of fluoroethane. The composition of this invention has the advantages of low GWP, environmental friendliness, good refrigeration effect and high compatibility with lubricants.
LUBRICANT COMPRISING A LIQUID ETHYLENE COPOLYMER
The present invention relates to a lubricant comprising a liquid ethylene copolymer which comprises in polymerized form 20 to 60 wt % of ethylene; and at least 20 wt % of an acrylate, which is selected from C1-C22 alkyl (meth)acrylate. It further relates to the liquid ethylene copolymer; and to a method for reducing friction between moving surfaces comprising the step of contacting the surfaces with the lubricant or with the ethylene copolymer.
Extreme pressure metal sulfonate grease
An overbased metal detergent grease comprising at least one of polyalkylene glycol and/or an acid having at least one of both a nitrogen and a sulfur atom. The grease has improved extreme pressure performance as measured by the Standard Test Method for Measurement of Extreme-Pressure Properties of Lubricating Grease (Four-Ball Method), ASTM D2596. Methods of making an overbased metal detergent grease comprising using at least one of polyalkylene glycol and/or an acid having at least one of both a nitrogen and a sulfur atom. Methods of lubricating mechanical components using the grease comprising contacting the mechanical component with the grease. Mechanical components can include gears, drivetrain elements, bearings, hinges, or combinations thereof.
A LUBRICANT COMPRISING 2,5-(BISHYDROXYMETHYL) TETRYHYDROFURAN DIALKANOATES
A lubricant comprising 2,5-(bishydroxymethyl) tetryhydrofuran dialkanoates This invention relates to a lubricant comprising a THF ester of the formula (I) as defined below. This invention further relates to a use of the THF ester as lubricant; and to a method for reducing friction between moving surfaces comprising the step of contacting the surfaces with the lubricant or with the THF ester.
HEAT TRANSFER METHODS, SYSTEMS AND COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed are refrigerants comprising at least about 97% by weight of a blend of three compounds, said blend consisting of:
from about 38% by weight to about 48% by weight difluoromethane (HFC-32),
from about 6% by weight to about 12% by weight pentafluoroethane (HFC-125),
from about 33% by weight to about 41% by weight trifluoroiodomethane (CF.sub.3I) and
from about 2% by weight to about 16% by weight 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf)
wherein the percentages are based on the total weight of the three compounds in the blend, and methods and systems which use same.
RECEPTACLE FOR PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING HAVING A GRADUATED LUBRICANT LAYER
A receptacle for pharmaceutical packaging includes: an elongate barrel section; a side wall extending over the elongate barrel section, the side wall having an inner surface bordering an interior, the interior having a diameter; and a layer of a lubricant located on at least a part of the inner surface. A thickness of the layer of lubricant is graduated.
DRY LUBRICANT FOR CONVEYING CONTAINERS
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a mixture of a water-miscible silicone material and a water-miscible lubricant. The mixture can be applied in relatively low amounts, to provide thin, substantially non-dripping lubricating films. In contrast to dilute aqueous lubricants, the lubricants of the invention provide drier lubrication of the conveyors and containers, a cleaner conveyor line and reduced lubricant usage, thereby reducing waste, cleanup and disposal problems.
