ENGINE OIL FORMULATION WITH IMPROVED SEQUENCE VIII PERFORMANCE
The present disclosure relates to methods of improving viscosity shear stability of a lubricating oil and lubricating oil composition comprising: a base oil of lubricating viscosity; an amount of one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compound(s);
wherein the lubricating oil composition has one or both of the following ratios: a) a ratio of KV40° C..sub.fresh to a weight % of zinc contributed by the one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compound(s) based on a total weight of the lubricating oil composition, of greater than 510, wherein KV40° C..sub.fresh is the kinematic viscosity of the fresh lubricating oil composition at 40° C.; and b) a ratio of KV40° C..sub.fresh to a weight % of phosphorus contributed by the one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compound(s) based on a total weight of the lubricating oil composition, of greater than 560, wherein KV40° C..sub.fresh is the kinematic viscosity of the fresh lubricating oil composition at 40° C.
Synthetic vegetable oil and environmental-friendly flame-retardant hydraulic oil composition including the same, and preparation method thereof
The present disclosure relates to a synthetic vegetable oil and an environmental-friendly flame-retardant hydraulic oil composition including the same, and a preparation method thereof, and provides a method of preparing a glycerin-ester-based lubricating base oil through a catalyst-free and rinsing-free process, a glycerin-ester-based lubricating base oil that is a synthetic vegetable oil obtained by the method, and an environmental-friendly flame-retardant hydraulic oil composition that contains the glycerin-ester-based lubricating base oil and that is capable of reducing electricity consumption by 7 to 8% compared to mineral oil-based lubricating oils due to excellent flame retardancy (with self-extinguishing function) and lubricity.
Method for producing renewable base oil and renewable fuel components
The present disclosure relates to methods for producing renewable base oil and other valuable renewable fuel components from a feedstock of biological origin comprising free fatty acids and glycerides. The feedstock is first separated to two or more effluent streams containing a fatty acid fraction and glyceride fraction. The glycerides are hydrolyzed to free fatty acids and glycerol, and the fatty acids thus obtained are recycled to the separating. The fatty acids are then converted to the base oil by ketonisation, hydrodeoxygenation and hydroisomerisation. The glycerol is converted to propanols by selective hydrogenolysis.
