Soap compositions and methods
Natural soap compositions and methods of manufacturing the same having anti-microbial properties for treating and preventing diaper rash and other microbial infections. The soap compositions may contain one or more fatty acids with carbon length ranging from four (C4) to twenty-two (C22) and/or natural fatty acid mixtures of coconut oil, olive oil, and/or tall oil fatty acids which are saponified with lye. The saponification lye may be sodium or potassium hydroxide. In preferred embodiments, the soap compositions contain at least one of sodium or potassium caprate, sodium or potassium caprylate, or mixtures thereof, especially 55:45% caprylate to caprate. The soap compositions are effective at treating or preventing diaper rashes and other microbial infections associated with Candida albicans (Ca—yeast), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Psa—a Gram negative bacteria), Staphylococcus aureus (Sa—a Gram positive bacteria), and Aspergillus niger (An—a mold).
Triglyceride oil compositions
This disclosure provides a triglyceride oil possessing an extremely low cloud point and low viscosity concomitant with a higher than anticipated saturated fatty acid content, very low polyunsaturated fatty acid content, and low iodine value. While many naturally occurring triglyceride oils possess one or more of these properties, natural triglyceride oils lack one or more of these attributes, thus making them less than ideal in industrial applications, such as lubricants, fuels, or dielectric fluids. The combination of attributes possessed by a triglyceride oil described herein, achieved without the addition of any additives, is unique compared with natural counterparts and as such, can find wide applications in the aforementioned fields.
LUBRICANT FOR MARINE ENGINES
A lubricant composition for engines has at least one base oil and one fatty amine.
Poly alpha olefin compositions
This invention is directed to a poly alpha olefin (PAO) composition formed in a first oligomerization, wherein at least portions of the PAO have properties that make them highly desirable for a subsequent oligomerization. A preferred process for producing this PAO uses a single site catalyst at high temperatures without adding hydrogen to produce a low viscosity PAO with excellent Noack volatility at high conversion rates. This PAO comprises a dimer product with at least 25 wt % tri-substituted vinylene olefins wherein said dimer product is highly desirable as a feedstock for a subsequent oligomerization. This PAO also comprises trimer and optionally higher oligomer products with outstanding properties that make these products useful as lubricant basestocks following hydrogenation.
REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS
A refrigeration cycle apparatus includes refrigerant circuits in which a high pressure shell compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve, and an indoor heat exchanger are connected; a mixed refrigerant containing 1,1,2-trifluoroethylene and a refrigerant other than 1,1,2-trifluorothylene and circulating through the refrigerant circuits; and a refrigerating machine oil enclosed in the refrigerant circuits and adjusted such that 1,1,2-trifluoroethylene will be more soluble therein than the other refrigerant is.
LOW POUR POINT DERIVATIVES OF DIMER FATTY ACIDS
The present invention relates to specific derivatives of dimer fatty acids, compositions comprising them and a method to reduce pour points.
Lubricating oil composition, method for producing lubricating oil composition, and continuously variable transmission
To provide a lubricating oil composition achieving both of high traction coefficient and excellent low temperature fluidity at a higher level and having a high flash point, which contains a naphthene-based synthetic oil (A) having a flash point of 140° C. or higher, a longifolene (B), and a predetermined monoester-based synthetic oil (C), a method for producing the lubricating oil composition, and a continuously variable transmission using the lubricating oil composition.
FLUIDS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES
A fluid includes a base stock and one or more additives. The base stock has a viscosity index of at least 80, and either a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of at least 320 cSt or a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of at least 14 cSt. The base stock includes greater than or equal to about 90 wt % saturates, less than or equal to about 10 wt % aromatics, and a sum of terminal/pendant propyl groups and terminal/pendant ethyl groups of at least 1.7 per 100 carbon atoms. The fluid has a thermal conductivity measured according to ASTM D7896 at 140° C. of 0.12 W/m.Math.K or greater.
SYNTHETIC VEGETABLE OIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL-FRIENDLY FLAME-RETARDANT HYDRAULIC OIL COMPOSITION INCLUDING THE SAME, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to a synthetic vegetable oil and an environmental-friendly flame-retardant hydraulic oil composition including the same, and a preparation method thereof, and provides a method of preparing a glycerin-ester-based lubricating base oil through a catalyst-free and rinsing-free process, a glycerin-ester-based lubricating base oil that is a synthetic vegetable oil obtained by the method, and an environmental-friendly flame-retardant hydraulic oil composition that contains the glycerin-ester-based lubricating base oil and that is capable of reducing electricity consumption by 7 to 8% compared to mineral oil-based lubricating oils due to excellent flame retardancy (with self-extinguishing function) and lubricity.
Metal-working Fluid Compositions and Methods for Making
The disclosure relates to a biobased metal-working fluid (MWF) composition and method for making same, and more particularly metal-working fluid with biobased lubricants with improved emulsion stability. At least 50 wt. % of the base oil component in the MWF concentrate is a plant-derived liquid decarboxylated rosin acid oil (“DCR”). The DCR comprises 50 to 100 wt. % of tricyclic compounds having 18-20 carbon atoms, one or more C═C groups, and m/z (mass/charge) value of 220-280; an oxygen content of <5%; a density of 0.9 to 1.0 g/cm.sup.3 at 20° C.; and an acid value of <10 mg KOH/g. The resulting MWF is characterized as having comparable if not better performance compared to a MWF containing only mineral oil (e.g., Group I or Group II).
