Fluid with polyalkylene glycol and unsaturated ester
A fluid contains a base oil consisting of an alcohol-initiated polyalkylene glycol where polyalkylene glycol component is selected from a homopolymer of 1,2-butylene oxide and copolymer of 1,2-butylene oxide and propylene oxide; a glycerol-initiated unsaturated ester that is free of tertiary carbon atoms and quaternary carbon atoms; and an antioxidant.
Lubricant for Low Global Warming Potential Refrigerant Systems
The disclosed technology relates to a working fluid for a low global warming potential (GWP) refrigeration system that includes a compressor, where the working fluid includes a polyolester oil, an alkylbenzene oil, and a low GWP refrigerant, and where the ester based lubricant comprises dipentaerythritol esterified with a mixture of carboxylic acids, wherein the mixture of carboxylic acids comprises at least one linear carboxylic acid having 8 to 10 carbon atoms. The disclosed technology provides commercially useful low GWP working fluids (commercially useful working fluids based on low GWP refrigerants) that do not have the solubility and/or miscibility problems commonly seen in low GWP fluids, including high viscosity fluids and applications.
LUBRICANTING COMPOSITION FOR A MARINE ENGINE OR A STATIONARY ENGINE
The present invention relates to a lubricating composition comprising: at least one base oil; at least one olefin copolymer; at least one detergent; and at least one linear hydrogenated styrene/butadiene copolymer. The invention also relates to the use of said composition for reducing fuel consumption in an engine and for enhancing the cleanliness of a 4-stroke or 2-stroke, preferably 4-stroke, marine engine or of a stationary engine.
FLUORINATED POLYACRYLATE ANTIFOAM COMPONENTS FOR LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS
There is disclosed an antifoam component for a mechanical device which includes a fluorinated poly(acrylate) copolymer. The antifoam component has improved foam performance and thermal stability in finished fluids, such as driveline fluids.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition is provided which comprises (a) greater than 50 wt. % of a base oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) 0.1 to 20 wt. % of an alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic carboxylic acid, wherein the alkyl substituent of the alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic carboxylic acid has from 12 to 40 carbon atoms; wherein the lubricating oil composition is a monograde lubricating oil composition meeting specifications for SAE J300 revised January 2015 requirements for a SAE 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 monograde engine oil, and has a TBN of 5 to 200 mg KOH/g, as determined by ASTM D2896.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITONS
Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition which comprises: (a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity having a kinematic viscosity at 100 C. in a range of about 2 to about 50 mm.sup.2/s, (b) an overbased metal salt of an alkyl-substituted phenate detergent, wherein the alkyl group is derived from an isomerized normal alpha olefin having from about 10 to about 40 carbon atoms per molecule and having an isomerization level (I) of the normal alpha olefin of from about 0.1 to about 0.4, (c) one or more boron-containing detergents having about 50 to about 500 ppm of boron, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition, and (d) one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compounds derived from a primary alcohol.
