Lubricating oil compositions
A lubricating composition comprises a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.01 to 25 percent by weight, based on the weight of the composition, of a poly(2-oxazoline) polymer. The polymer has the repeat unit:
N(COR.sup.1)CH.sub.2CH.sub.2
wherein the number of repeat units (n) in the polymer is an integer between 4 and 1000, such as between 4 and 500. The polymer carries an inorganic or organic nucleophilic polymerisation terminating group (t), and an initiator group (i) connected to the N atom of a repeat unit, the initiator group (i) being effective to initiate the polymerisation of linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbyl moieties. At least 5% of the total number of the groups R.sup.1 in the polymer comprise alkenyl groups having between 15 and 20 carbon atoms.
HYDROGENATED POLYMERS WITH A RADIAL STRUCTURE HAVING A CORE BASED ON CALIXARENES AND USE THEREOF IN LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS
Hydrogenated polymers with a radial structure having a core made up of calixarenes of the general formula (I), to the core of which is linked a number P of hydrogenated linear polymer segments selected from: hydrogenated homopolymers or co-polymers of conjugated dienes; or hydrogenated co-polymers of said conjugated dienes and monoalkenyl arenes, and mixtures thereof said formula (I) in which: R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently selected from hydrogen; a group containing carbon and hydrogen; a group also containing heteroatoms in addition to carbon and hydrogen; a group also containing silicon in addition to carbon, hydrogen and heteroatoms; one of the two substituents R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 is hydrogen, while the other may be hydrogen or alkyl, with a number of carbon atoms between 1 and 6, preferably methyl and ethyl; n is an integer in the range between 4 and 16.

COMPOSITION FOR COOLING AND LUBRICATING A DRIVE SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE
A composition with a kinematic viscosity for cooling and lubricating a drive system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, measured at 100 C. in accordance with the standard ASTM D445, in the range 3 to 10 mm.sup.2/s. The composition includes 70% to 90% of a base oil or a mixture of base oils having a kinematic viscosity, measured at 100 C. in accordance with the standard ASTM D445, of 1.5 to 8 mm.sup.2/s and selected from polyalphaolefins; and at least one thickening polymer.
Viscosity index improver concentrates
A viscosity index improver containing, in non-ester diluent oil, one or more hydrogenated, functionalized linear block copolymers having at least one block derived from monoalkenyl arene covalently linked to at least one block derived from diene in an amount that is greater than the critical overlap concentration (c.sub.h*), in mass %, for the linear block copolymers in the diluent oil; and an amount of ester base stock.

Relating to the field of lubricant, more particularly relates to lubricant for marine engine, notably for a two-stroke marine engine. More particularly, relates to a lubricant for a marine engine including at least one lubricant base oil and at least one fatty amine.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING OXIDATION AND DEPOSIT RESISTANCE OF LUBRICATING OILS
Provided is a method for improving oxidation resistance and deposit resistance of a lubricating oil for use in lubricating a mechanical component. The method includes the step of providing the lubricating oil to the mechanical component and measuring the improved oxidation and deposit resistance. The lubricating oil includes a lubricating oil base stock at from 0 to 80 wt %, at least one branched isoparaffin having a mole % of epsilon carbon as measured by C.sub.13 NMR of less than or equal to 10% at from 20 to 80 wt %, at least one viscosity modifier at from 5 to 20 wt %, and one or more other lubricating oil additives. The oxidation resistance in the CEC L-109 oxidation resistance test is improved to greater than 310 hours to achieve a 100% viscosity increase and the deposit resistance in the TEOST 33C is improve to total deposits of less than 45 mg as compared to oxidation resistance and deposit resistance achieved using a lubricating oil not containing the at least one branched isoparaffin.
