AIRCRAFT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
An aircraft hydraulic system utilizes a hydraulic fluid that includes a heat transfer fluid and a friction modifier additive.
Polyester and use of polyester in lubricants
The presently claimed invention is directed to novel polyesters which are obtainable by reacting a mixture comprising at least one C8-C20 Guerbet alcohol, at least one aliphatic or cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acid and at least one polyol with a hydroxyl functionality in the range of ?2 to ?6 and the use of these polyesters as a component of lubricating oil compositions.
LUBRICANT WITH SULFUR-CONTAINING POLYALKYLENE GLYCOL
A fluid contains a base oil and an antioxidant, the base oil consisting of sulfur-containing polyalkylene glycol where greater than 80 weight-percent of the fluid is a sulfur-containing polyalkylene glycol and less than one weight-percent of the fluid is water, with weight percent based on total fluid weight an wherein the sulfur-containing polyalkylene glycol is free of oxygen bound directly to sulfur.
AIRCRAFT TURBINE OIL BASE STOCK AND METHOD OF MAKING
Provided is a polyol ester base stock composition with reduced odor and volatility. The polyol ester back stock composition does not include C5 acid. More particularly, the polyol ester base stock includes the reaction product of: (a) a polyol represented by the formula R(OH).sub.n wherein R is an aliphatic or a cyclo-aliphatic hydrocarbyl group and n is at least 2, and (b) a mixture of monocarboxylic acids comprising at least one linear acid selected from the group consisting of between C6 to C10 acids and at least one branched C6 acid, wherein the amount of C6 to C10 acids is at least 55 wt. % and the amount of the at least one branched C6 acid is 45 wt. % or less, based upon the total amount of said mixture of monocarboxylic acids. The polyol ester base stock is particularly suited for aviation turbine oils.
PIB AS HIGH VISCOSITY LUBRICANT BASE STOCK
Lubricant composition comprising a polyisobutene polymer having a number average molecular weight of 300-5000 g/mol and at least 60 mol % terminal double bonds based on the total number of double bonds in the polymer, and an ester component and/or an alkylated naphthalene compound having kinematic viscosity in the range of 2 to 15 mm.sup.2/s at 100 C.
Process For Applying Lubricants Containing Metal Nanoparticles on Interacting Parts
A process for applying a low coefficient of friction coating to interacting parts of a machine. The low coefficient coating is comprised of nanoparticles of a metal melting below about 400 C., preferably bismuth. A dispersion of the nanoparticles in a lubricant oil is introduced into the oil reservoir of the machine and the machine is operated at designed conditions.
Low-lead dry film lubricant composition
A composition includes molybdenum disulfide, epoxy binder, and 0.01 to 3 wt % lead. The composition is useful, for example, as dry film lubricant.
Tricresyl phosphate-free oil, lubricant or turbine oil
The present invention relates to a tricresyl phosphate-free oil which can be used as lubricant or hydraulic oil. The oil is distinguished by extremely low human toxicity. In particular, the oil is suitable as turbine oil, i.e. as lubricant oil in aircraft turbines, with which, in the case of a fume event, symptoms of the aerotoxic syndrome in aircraft passengers can be prevented. In addition, the present invention relates to the corresponding use of the turbine oil according to the invention for the prophylaxis of the aerotoxic syndrome in the case of a fume event. In addition, the invention describes a turbine which contains a corresponding turbine oil as lubricant. Furthermore, the method for operating a turbine is indicated.
Redox couple-based mitigation of fluid-flow-driven electrochemical surface degradation
The present disclosure relates to methods, systems, hydraulic fluids and additives for reducing the rate of surface current degradation for components in a hydraulic system, wherein the hydraulic system is exposed to phosphate-ester-based hydraulic fluid.
Complex polyester composition, lubricant composition, lubricant, and production method for complex polyester composition
An object of the present invention is to provide a lubricant which has excellent lubrication performance and is able to exhibit excellent lubrication performance even when under extreme pressure conditions. The present invention relates to a complex polyester composition containing polyester obtained by condensing polyhydric alcohol having at least two hydroxyl groups, a dicarboxylic acid having 44 carbon atoms, and monohydric alcohol. Further, the present invention relates to a lubricant composition containing the complex polyester composition, and a lubricant and a production method for a complex polyester composition.
