Micro-adjustment of cushions
A method for adjusting a cushioning element, such as a pillow, by adjusting a length and a volume of a cover of the pillow. The cover includes one or more gathering elements that can alter the length and the volume of the cover. Each gathering element may extend around an end of the cover. Each gathering element may enable adjustment of the length and volume of the cover in extremely small increments or even continuously (i.e., in micro adjustments). Micro-adjustment of the length and volume of the cover may enable adjustment of a position and/or an orientation of at least one endpoint of a closed kinematic chain of an individual's spine, which may provide control over a curvature of the spine.
PORTABLE MEDICAL LIFT AND POSITIONING DEVICE
A lift and position device and methods of use therewith designed to aid attendants in moving and propping the various selected body parts of a patient from atop a support surface, for example, a mattress. The device utilizes a base for stability, a separately powered screw jack, radial adjustment head, a cushion cradle and a single or plurality of fitted cushion(s) configured to optimally raise and lower a particular body part of a patient such as his or her arms, torso, legs, back and the like. All elements of the device are ultralight and ultra-strong, some or all of the components of the device being composed of Carbon Fiber, Aluminum, injection molded plastic, and Titanium. The device utilizes advantageous mechanics of jack technology modified to suit the specific needs of an attendant wishing to the lift, position or prop and secure a particular body part of a patient, for example, an immobile, obese or otherwise incapacitated patient. In addition, the device will aid in daily turning of patients, pulmonary relief via leg elevation and enhanced healing by securely holding appendages still and securely at various angles and heights for an unlimited amount of time.
ERGONOMIC BODY PILLOW
An ergonomic body pillow includes a substantially cuboid portion joined to a substantially cylindrical portion. The diameter of the cylindrical portion is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cuboid portion. The substantially cuboid portion is firmer than the cylindrical portion. The body pillow keeps the body in a neutral position while slide-sleeping.
Wedge shaped unitary lateral support cushion
Aspects herein relate to a wedge shaped lateral support cushion that facilitates a side resting position for a user. The wedge shaped lateral support cushion in accordance with aspects herein is a unitary structure that is configured to support the head and the upper torso area of the user. In order to provide a proper alignment of the user's body in the side resting position, the wedge shaped lateral support cushion comprises a nook that is configured to receive the shoulder of the user so that the user has full range of motion of the arm that corresponds to the shoulder that is in accommodated in the nook. As such, the user can remain in the side resting position for prolonged periods of time, and can perform activities such as side sleeping, cuddling with a partner, lounging, and the like.
Adaptable Mattress for Prone and Side Positions
The present invention is a bed, mattress, or passed surface adaptable for sleeping or lying in the face down positions, also known as prone position; the side position; or other desired resting position. The invention includes a main body, accessory pieces adaptable for the different positions, and an optional bed frame and headboard. The present invention can also be used for a supine or reclined sleeping position.
Multi-stage memory sensing
Methods and devices for reading a memory cell using multi-stage memory sensing are described. The memory cell may be coupled to a digit line after the digit line during a read operation. A transistor may be activated to couple an amplifier capacitor with the digit line during the read operation. The transistor may be deactivated for a portion of the read operation to isolate the amplifier capacitor from the digit line while the memory cell is coupled to the digit line. The transistor may be reactivated to recouple the amplifier capacitor to the digit line to help determine the value of the memory cell.
Neck support device
In one embodiment, a neck support device includes: first and second leg attachment portions; a head cradle; and a first coupling portion attaching the first leg attachment portion to the head cradle and a second coupling portion attaching the second leg attachment portion to the head cradle. In another embodiment, a method of supporting the neck of a user when the user is laying on his or her back or supporting the back of a user when the user is in a seated position includes: attaching the first leg attachment portion to the first leg of the user; attaching the second leg attachment portion to the second leg of the user; and fixing the head cradle.
Vibrating foot rest
The vibrating foot rest is configured for use with a patient. The vibrating foot rest is a therapeutic device. The vibrating foot rest massages the legs of the patient. The vibrating foot rest comprises a foam wedge and a master circuit. The foam wedge contains the master circuit. The foam wedge is secured to the legs of the patient. The master circuit is a vibrating structure that massages the legs of the patient.
SUPPORT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
A support cushion assembly (10) suitable for use in medical institutions and the like. The assembly (10) comprises a profiled body with a waterproof washable cover containing a filling. The assembly has a first cushion part (12) locatable beneath the back of a person lying on their side, a connecting part (14) extends from the first cushion part (12) to a second elongate cushion part (16) which is locatable in use to support the person's abdomen and/or their legs.
