Anaplerotic oil production in microbials
Disclosed are techniques and systems for producing microbials having anaplerotic oils that are rich in odd-chain fatty acids, and other beneficial components, at higher concentrations than those present in other natural dietary sources of OCFA, at lower cost, and higher production yield. Such compositions can comprise pentadecanoic and heptadecanoic fatty acids. The techniques described herein include methods for producing and deriving such compositions rich in odd-chain fatty acids from microbials, including microalgae and yeasts/fungi.
MICROBIAL OIL, PRODUCTION METHOD FOR MICROBIAL OIL, CONCENTRATED MICROBIAL OIL, AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR CONCENTRATED MICROBIAL OIL
A microbial oil comprising: a specific amount of at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid having at least 20 carbon atoms in fatty acid alkyl ester form and/or in free fatty acid form; and specific amount of thermally-produced fatty acid having from 16 to 22 carbon atoms in a fatty acid alkyl ester form and/or a free fatty acid form. A production method thereof comprising: providing a starting oil containing at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid having at least 20 carbon atoms in an alkyl ester form and/or a free fatty acid form obtained from microbial biomass; performing a rectification of the starting oil under specific conditions; and obtaining the aforementioned microbial oil. A concentrated microbial oil obtained using the production method described above, and a production method thereof. An agent for treating or preventing an inflammatory disease comprising the microbial oil or the concentrated microbial oil.
Solvent extraction of oil from distillers dried grains and methods of using extraction products
A process for extraction of crude oil from distillers dried grain solubles and/or distillers dried grains using a solvent extraction process and producing corn distillers meal that may be used as an animal feed supplement is disclosed. The corn distillers meal may be used as a crude protein supplement for use in a livestock feed diet, poultry feed diet, aquatic feed diet or the like. The solvent extracted crude oil may be suitable for other processes, including oleochemical processing for personal care and home care products, biodiesel production, and/or renewable diesel production from hydro-treating the extracted oil to make green diesel fuel.
Method of isolating lipids from a lipids containing biomass with aid of hydrophobic silica
The current invention relates to a method of isolating lipids from a lipids containing biomass with aid of hydrophobic silica and to an oil and to a delipidated biomass as obtained by such a method.
ENHANCING PRODUCT STREAMS FROM ETHANOL PRODUCTION
Processes are described herein for realizing an enhanced yield of ethanol and co-products from processes for producing ethanol from biomass containing lignocellulosic material. Also described herein are product outputs of these processes having new and useful properties and systems implementing the processes.
VERY LONG CHAIN FATTY ACID COMPOSITIONS
The invention relates to compositions comprising fatty acid mixtures comprising very long chain unsaturated fatty acids. The fatty acids of the fatty acid mixture are isolated from natural oils. Particularly, the fatty acid mixtures comprise an enriched amount of both very long chain monounsaturated fatty acids (VLCMUFAs) and very long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (VLCPUFAs). In one embodiment of the invention, the amount of cholesterol in the fatty acid mixture is minimised and a method for production is provided.
ENDOGENOUS LIPASE FOR METAL REDUCTION IN DISTILLERS CORN OIL
Provided herein are compositions, methods, systems associated with propagation and fermentation, and co-products of biochemical production processes, for example, a DCO co-product resulting from converting oil containing grains into bio chemicals via fermentation in the presence of endogenous esterase. The DCO resulting from the processes exhibits lower metal ion content relative to a DCO obtained in the absence of endogenous fermentation with an esterase such as a lipase. The DCO is useful as a feedstock for the production of renewable diesel.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING CLARIFIED OIL FROM COFFEE GROUNDS AND FROM WHOLE AND/OR DAMAGED BEANS
A method designed to clarify the coffee oil contained in coffee grounds or in whole and/or damaged coffee beans. Said objective is achieved by way of a method that starts with inoculation of the coffee grounds or coffee beans with macromycetes, especially with white rot fungi, continuing with an incubation step that allows complete population of the coffee grounds or coffee beans by the fungal mycelium to be achieved, and finishing with steps of drying and extracting the coffee oil. The method disclosed allows colourless or pale yellow coffee oil to be produced, favouring the use thereof in cosmetic and food products, amongst others. International patent classification: Methods for preparing or isolating a composition containing fungal microorganisms (C12N 1/14) Technological sector: Chemical processes
