Systems and methods for extracting oil from plant material

Disclosed are methods and systems for recovering oil from processed plant materials and by-products formed during a milling process used for producing ethanol.

Systems and methods for processing essential oils

A system for processing essential oils includes a mixing tank, three winterization vessels, three respective filtering vessels, a fine filtering vessel, a holding tank, an evaporator, an essential oil reservoir, a solvent reservoir, and a solvent filtering vessel. The evaporator can include a heat exchanger configured to heat a plate down which a mixture including the oils flows, to evaporate other components of the mixture. Fluids can be advanced through the system using a pressurized inert gas.

COMPOSITIONS ISOLATED FROM DATE PALM TREE

Described herein are a method of preparing a vegetable oil, comprising pressing a non-fruit tissue of a date palm offshoot, as well as a vegetable oil and a polysaccharide-containing fraction obtained by such a method. Further described herein is an oil comprising esters of fatty acids, wherein at least 10 weight percent of the fatty acids are linolelaidic acid, as well as compositions comprising a variety of ingredients, such as saccharides and amino acids, as characterized herein, and a method of isolating dihydrouracil from an oil and/or composition described herein. Further described is a method of preparing a vegetable oil, comprising pressing date kernel tissue.

METHOD OF MAKING LIPIDS WITH IMPROVED COLD FLOW PROPERTIES

Provided herein are methods of producing oils with reduced saturated fatty acids. The methods include culturing oil-producing microorganisms in a fermentation medium in the presence of one or more antifoaming agents under a controlled carbon consumption rate, wherein the culturing produces oils comprising fatty acids and wherein less than 35% of the fatty acids in the oil are saturated fatty acids.

SUNFLOWER SEED

The problem solved by the present invention is to provide a high-stearic acid sunflower line. This problem is solved by a sunflower seed comprising a sequence insertion mutation on the 3′ side from the TATA box and on the 5′ side from the start codon of a stearoyl-acyl carrier protein desaturase 17 (SAD17) gene.

METHOD OF ISOLATING LIPIDS FROM A LIPIDS CONTAINING BIOMASS

The present invention relates to a method of isolated polyunsaturated fatty acids containing lipids from a lipids containing biomass.

A method of producing a low-fat product from a starting material made of a fat and/or oil containing plant- or animal item includes providing the starting material at a temperature of at least 35° C. and extracting a greater part of the extractable oil and/or fat originally contained in the plant or animal item from the starting material using a first decanter centrifuge. The first decanter centrifuge leaves a residue of solids and liquids. The residue forms the low-fat product.
