Elevated multi-stage chilled filter system
Refrigerated solvent is fed through a cooling jacket around an essential element extraction vessel. After circulating through the cooling jacket, the solvent is re-chilled and at least some of the solvent is passed into the extraction vessel, in which essential elements dissolve into the solvent. Downstream of the extraction vessel, after adsorbent media treatment, the extracted oil and solvent mixture is filtered, in a chilled state, through one or more filtration units. A filtration unit may be a system of vertically oriented filters of decreasing pore size sealed and insulated from the atmosphere. Pressurized gas is used to force the oil and solvent through the filters. Each filter stage has a removable lid, which provides convenient access for replacing the filter cartridge without disturbing the thermally insulated sidewalls of the filter stage.
Method for extracting oil from a water and solids composition, method for the production of ethanol, and ethanol production facility
The present disclosure includes a method for processing a beer stream for the recovery of oil. The method include a step of extracting oil from a beer stream into an organic phase comprising an organic solvent to provide in the organic phase at least a portion of the oil. In general, a beer stream refers to a composition containing alcohol, water, oil, and particulates, and can be a result of a fermentation process. When the beer stream is a beer stream from a fermentation process, it can be referred to as a fermentation broth even if it is no longer being subjected to fermentation. The beer stream can contain other components commonly found in a stream coming off a fermentation process such as, for example, glycerol and acetic acid. A method for producing ethanol, and an ethanol production facility are provided.
Processes and systems for recovery of solvents and target botanical compounds
Processes and systems for the recovery of solvents from a feedstock are provided, as well as processes and systems for the recovery of target botanical compounds. The processes and systems include a heated mixing device, in which a feedstock can be simultaneously mixed and heated to vaporize and release a solvent or botanical compound from the feedstock. The vaporized solvent or botanical compound can be condensed and collected as recovered solvent or a recovered botanical compound.
Process of recovering oil
The present invention relates to processes of recovering oil after liquefaction and/or from thin stillage and/or syrup/evaporated centrate from a fermentation product production process by adding a thermostable protease to the whole stillage, thin stillage and/or syrup.
RESIDUAL SOLVENT RECOVERY APPARATUSES AND METHODS
An extraction vessel including an elongated vessel defining at least an interior cavity for solid-liquid extraction and a plurality of protrusions that are arranged within the elongated vessel, extend into the interior cavity, and are arranged to thermally regulate a core of a solvent-bearing mass within the interior cavity.
Method and an apparatus for preparing a high-polyphenols olive oil
A process for making olive oil having a high polyphenol content and, in particular a high hydroxytyrosol content, comprises the conventional steps of transforming (II) olives (1) into an oily must (5); of resolving (V) the later into an oily juice (7), from which a base olive oil (8) is obtained, and into an aqueous juice (6) containing most of the polyphenols; and of separating (VII) the vegetation water (9) from the aqueous juice (6). Moreover, according to the invention, steps are provided of removing water (XV) from the vegetation water (9), preferably by evaporation, so as to obtain a polyphenol-enriched concentrate (11); and of mixing (XIX) the concentrate (11) with the base olive oil (8), so as to transfer said polyphenols from the former to the latter and to obtain a final polyphenol-enriched oil (12), along with an exhausted concentrate (11). The step of removing water causes a polyphenol concentration increase, to enhance their interphase transfer, and, at the same time, it causes a viscosity and density increase, which makes the water phase, during the contact with the oil, less prone to form emulsions than the methods of prior art. The high polyphenol concentration remarkably improves the organoleptic quality of the oil and makes the latter more stable, besides producing well-known advantageous effects for the consumer's health. According to further aspects of the invention, an apparatus is provided for making such oils, as well as a concentrate for use in olive oils and also in any other vegetable or animal food oil, in cosmetics, bio-repellent products and the like.
Process for the extraction of oil-soluble components from plant material
The invention is directed to a process for the extraction of one or more oil-soluble components from plant material, to an oil comprising one or more oil-soluble components from plant material, preferably obtainable by the process of the invention, a physiologically acceptable product comprising the oil, and to the use of plant material. The process of the invention comprises: a) providing oil and plant material; b) heating the oil to a temperature of 10-80? C., preferably 50-80? C.; c) contacting the oil with the plant material while the oil and plant material are in motion relative to each other, thereby extracting one or more oil-soluble components from said plant material; d) replacing plant material with new plant material during the extraction process; and e) collecting said oil when the concentration of the one or more oil-soluble components has reached a desired level.
Closed loop chilled solvent feed for cannabinoid extraction
Process and method for the recovery of oil from the processing of grains into biofuels and other chemicals
A method of recovering an extraction aid from distillers corn oil, by directing stillage containing distillers oil and an extraction aid to a centrifugal separator, recovering a light phase from the centrifugal separator, the light phase containing at least a portion of the distillers oil and at least a portion of the extraction aid, cooling the light phase and causing a precipitate to form, and recovering a precipitate from the cooled light phase containing at least a portion of the extraction aid. A method of recovering distillers oil.
