BED AND BED INSERT WITH POSTURAL SUPPORT
The invention provides a bed capable of providing postural support to a user, the bed comprising: a headrest (10) having an adjustable height; a backrest (12) having an adjustable angle (a)of inclination to incline the user's back; and a shoulder and arm rest (11) positioned between the headrest and the backrest; wherein the headrest (10), backrest (12) and the shoulder and arm rest (11) are configurable to form a channel (14) extending between and separating the headrest (10 and the backrest (12) when the headrest (10) and backrest (12) are adjusted in elevated positions, and configurable to form a substantially even sleeping surface of the backrest (12) and shoulder and arm rest (11) without forming the channel (14) when the backrest (12) is adjusted to a flat angle of inclination. The invention also provides an insert capable of being inserted into an outer bed frame in the construction of the bed, and a kit for construction of the bed.
Multi-Factor Authentication with Increased Security
A multi-factor authentication method and system is provided such that a push notification during an authentication process is only received if a mobile device and user are authenticated prior to receiving the push notification. Either the mobile device itself or a second device sending the push notification may be programmed to either reject or not forward the authentication request. Additionally, using the method of the present invention, enhanced security is provided by requiring the location of the mobile device and the second device to be approximately in the same geographical location.
ZERO GAP FOLDABLE POWERED BED
A zero gap foldable powered bed comprises a bed frame and a sliding mechanism disposed upon said bed frame. The bed further comprises back, lumbar, seat, thigh, and leg decks operatively connected to the sliding mechanism, and the bed frame includes a head end frame member which is disposed within a vertically oriented plane. Linear actuators are operatively connected to the back and leg decks, and when the back deck is elevated or lowered, the sliding mechanism slides upon the bed frame so as to maintain the head end frame member, to which a headboard may be attached, within the vertically oriented plane such that a free end portion of the back deck will always be disposed immediately adjacent to the vertically oriented plane such that the back and shoulders of a person, lying or sitting upon the bed, will remain close to a nightstand, which may be disposed close to the bed, such that articles disposed upon the nightstand are always readily accessible.
REMOTE CONTROL ADJUSTABLE BED AND REMOTE CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
The invention relates to a remote control, an adjustable bed and a remote control method thereof. The remote control includes a mode control switch having three position states including an R side position, a middle position and an L side position, and being operably slidable in one of the three position states; a monitoring unit configured to detect the position state of the mode control switch; and a control unit coupled to the monitoring unit and configured to receive the position state of the mode control switch, determine a control mode of the adjustable bed accordingly, and send a matching instruction to one or both of the first and second controllers of the first and second bed units based on the determined control mode so as to establish a matching connection of the remote control with said one or both of the first and second controllers.
OPERATING UNIT AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AN ELECTROMOTIVE ADJUSTING DRIVE OF A PIECE OF FURNITURE
The invention relates to an operating unit (10) for at least one electromotive adjusting drive (7, 8) of a piece of furniture (1), having:—at least one operating element (12, 13),—a transmission unit (16) for wirelessly transmitting signals on the basis of actuation of the at least one operating element (12), and—a rechargeable energy store (17) for storing electrical energy for supplying power to the operating unit (10). The invention is distinguished by the fact that it has a device (20) for inductively receiving energy for charging the energy store (17). The invention also relates to a control system for controlling at least one adjusting drive of a piece of furniture, and to a piece of furniture having such a control system.
MATTRESS THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The disclosure generally relates to a mattress thermal management system, for example a mattress cooling and/or heating system and in particular a suction- and/or discharge-based cooling and/or heating system. Deck-mounted fans beneath a mattress operate in various embodiments to induce a uniform suction flow, a uniform discharge flow, and/or a combined suction/discharge (circulating) flow that enhances the cooling and/or heating rate of the mattress. Mattress-mounted heating units can be included. The mattress thermal management system can be incorporated into a conventional mattress/bed system or into an adjustable bed system.
ADJUSTABLE BED WITH IMPROVED POWER MANAGEMENT
The disclosure generally relates to an adjustable bed, in particular incorporating improved power management systems. In various embodiments, an adjustable bed can include a wirelessly chargeable remote control unit, one or more pulse width modulator units to provide DC power at a variety of voltages appropriate for varied peripheral electrical components of the bed, and/or a battery backup unit providing power to the bed in addition to a mains power input. The various power management systems can reduce wire clutter for peripheral electrical components, permit a wider range of peripheral electrical components to be driven by a single power supply, provide for adjustable bed operation in the absence of mains power supply, and reduce power consumption in different operation modes.
Adjustable Bed with Foundation Spring Support
The disclosure relates to an adjustable bed and foundation thereof, in particular incorporating springs or other support elements into the adjustable bed foundation or frame. The adjustable bed can include one or more foundation spring support sections mounted on or in a mattress support surface of the bed foundation. Spring support sections having different firmness levels in different mattress support sections can provide a varying support level to a user of the adjustable bed foundation combined with a mattress thereon. Spring support sections that are discrete from each other can permit articulation of the corresponding mattress support surface sections without creating bending, elongation, and/or compression stresses which might otherwise cause uneven support from or damage to a continuous spring support element spanning multiple mattress support surface sections.
Modular adjustable bed system facilitating assembly in a manual, partially-electric, or fully-electric configuration
A bed system includes a fixed frame, a movable frame, and first and second end boards disposed at the head and foot ends of the fixed frame, respectively. The system may be assembled and/or configured such that: a first electric or manual actuator is coupled between the fixed frame assembly and a first linkage assembly of the movable frame assembly for powered or manual movement of a first movable section of the movable frame assembly; a second electric or manual actuator is coupled between the fixed frame assembly and a second linkage assembly for powered or manual movement of a second movable section of the movable frame assembly; and/or a third electric or manual actuator is coupled between the first and second end boards for powered or manual height adjustment of the head and foot ends of the fixed frame assembly.
