Ecologically Friendly Candle Kit
20220259519 · 2022-08-18 ·

A kit for assembling an eco-friendlier and more sustainable alternative to traditional candles, which is also versatile and user-friendly. The candle kit disclosed herein is comprised of entirely or mostly natural granulated candle wax and one or more compatible candle wicks supplied together as a set, in a readily biodegradable, and/or recyclable, sturdy packaging box. In one non-limiting embodiment granulated candle wax is poured into an existing container rather than being offered pre-molded and stuck to a candle container like traditional candles. One or more of the wicks included in the product can be inserted directly into the wax particles by the consumer to complete the candle.

Colored flame emitting device
11118782 · 2021-09-14 · ·

A device that emits colored flames is disclosed. The device may include one or more electromagnetic coils within a housing. A fuel source may provide fuel such as hydrogen to an igniter at the input to the electromagnetic coil. The fuel may be ignited and a current may flow through the coil that may create a magnetic field. The ignited fuel may ionize creating an electric current that may accelerate the combusting particles through the coil. The current may create a magnetic field that may force the ionized particles into cyclotron orbits. Coloring additive such as salts may be added to the combusting fuel to provide color to the resulting flames.

Coating compositions for oriented strand boards and associated methods of use

Wax compositions are provided with improved properties for various applications, such as coating of composite cellulosic materials, e.g., composite wood material, more specifically oriented strand board. As described herein, wax compositions include a kinematic viscosity measured at 100° C. of ≤13.1 mm.sup.2/s; and a contact angle on glass of ≤34.4°, which provide enhanced water proofing properties. The wax composition may have a flash point of greater than 450° F. Wax composition are provided with improved properties for candle jars. As described herein, candle jar wax compositions include 150N foots oil and 600N slack wax. The wax composition can include up to about 80% 150N foots oil.

Gel-type scented candle and method for manufacturing same

A gel-type scented candle includes a container, a wick attached to and erected at the center of the inner bottom of the container, and a candle oil accommodated in the container, in which the candle oil is of a gel type made by adding a natural vegetable oil with a natural perfume and a natural pigment, and the container can be reused by being refilled with the candle oil by a user before or after use of the candle oil.

STABILIZED CANDLE WAX COMPOSITIONS

Candle wax (which may be white or colored, and unscented or scented) is effectively stabilized against discoloration and fading by the incorporation therein of a liquid 2-hydroxybenzophenone ultraviolet absorber, either alone or in combination with a second UV absorber, a benzoate light stabilizer, an antioxidant, and/or a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS).

WICKS FOR CANDLES AND OTHER LIGHTING DEVICES

A wick includes a sheet of wick material. The wick has a height dimension, a width dimension, and a thickness dimension. The height dimension and the width dimension are greater than the thickness dimension. The height dimension extends from the top of the wick to the bottom of the wick as the wick is oriented when provided in a candle. The width dimension and the thickness dimension are perpendicular to the height dimension. The sheet of wick material may be dyed, provided with a visible pattern and/or provided with a plurality of cut-out portions.

Reusable Wax Warmer Liner
20210214125 · 2021-07-15 ·

The present invention discloses a liner made to fit and have direct contact within the warming dish of a wax warmer to serve the purpose of receiving, melting, cooling, remolding, removing, storing, re-using and safely discarding scented wax while retaining the integrity of a wax warming mechanism by preventing messy wax buildup or dangerous removal of wax from the wax warmer dish and reusing the liner after wax removal.

The present invention comprises polymeric material, which is preferred, or metallic, silicone or other material which is heat transferable, allowing heat to transfer through the liner and melting the wax within, while not affecting the throw of the wax properties, and maintaining and not distracting from the appearance of the wax warmer in design and scope. The liner also may be used as a warming dish on its own accord, seated directly over a low wattage light bulb of a wax warmer or in direct contact with the warming platform of a wax candle warmer.

Upon discontinuation of the heat source, or removal of the liner from the wax warmer or warming platform, the melted wax, once completely cooled, may be removed from the liner by method of flexibly releasing the cooled wax, now solidly molded into the shape of the liner, from its edges and base. The re-molded wax may then be discarded if wax properties are no longer effective or saved for another use if properties remain and are desired for later use. The emptied liner may then be reused, disposed or recycled, if so desired. If wax is not removed from the liner, the wax may be stored within the liner for later use.

The present invention is contourably shaped to fit a variety of wax warmer designs, as well as for structural stability for multiple uses or branding purposes which will identify the liner and be re-molded into the melted and solidified scented wax. Such contours on the sides and bottom of the liner help prevent the formation of condensation or vacuum forming, which can hinder both the removal and release of the liner from the receiving portion of a wax warmer or warming platform and aid in the removal of the solidly formed wax from within the liner itself.

Wax Compositions Comprising Linear Alpha Olefins

Novel wax compositions are provided herein comprising at least about 85 wt. % of linear alpha olefins having a carbon number of at least 18, about 8 wt. % to about 40 wt. % of linear alpha olefins having a carbon number of 20, and about 5 wt. % to about 30 wt. % of linear alpha olefins having a carbon number of at least 30. The present wax compositions yield smooth, one-pour container candle waxes and provide ideal container candle burn performance demonstrated by low sooting behavior and a balanced wax consumption.
