Adjustable foundation
An adjustable foundation and process includes a mattress support surface including a head and back section hingedly connected to an intermediate section at one end and a leg and foot section hingedly connected to the intermediate section at another end, wherein the intermediate section includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is hingedly connected to the head and back section and the second portion is hingedly connected to the leg and foot section. The intermediate or seat section is configured to increase in length upon articulation of the head and back section and/or the leg and foot section from a flat position or an increase in inclination of any section. Likewise, the intermediate or seat section is configured to decrease in length upon articulation of the head and back section and/or the leg and foot section from an inclined position to a flat position or a decrease in length upon declination of any section. By doing so, a prone user does not have to shift his position on the mattress in order to accommodate the inclination or declination.
MODULAR ELECTRIC BEDSTEAD
A modular electric bedstead includes an upper body supporting unit having a front base, a back supporting rack pivotally connected with the front base, and a front actuator pivotally connected between the front base and the back supporting rack, a lower body supporting unit having a rear base, a thigh supporting rack pivotally connected with the rear base, a lower leg supporting rack pivotally connected with the thigh supporting rack, and a rear actuator pivotally connected between the rear base and the thigh supporting rack, and a buttock supporting unit having two middle bases and a buttock supporting rack detachably and across disposed on the two middle bases. Each middle base has front and rear ends detachably connected with the front and rear bases, respectively. The bedstead is dismantlable to reduce the space occupied and can be flatly packed for facilitating transportation.

ELECTRIC BED PACKAGE
An electric bed package includes a bedstead and a packing member. The bedstead includes an upper body supporting unit, a lower body supporting unit and a buttock supporting unit, which all have a flat shape. The upper and lower body supporting units are parallel stacked in a way that the buttock supporting unit is arranged by a lateral side of a stack of the upper and lower body supporting units and the buttock supporting unit is approximately perpendicular to the upper body supporting unit. The packing member packs and retains the bedstead therein. The electric bed package has a reduced volume, facilitating transportation thereof.
Split adjustable mattress foundation for multiple users
Adjustable mattress assemblies and processes including an adjustable mattress foundation dimensioned to support a mattress configured to accommodate two supine users during use thereof includes a foundation frame including a first sub-foundation configured with at least one motorized actuator to effect inclination or declination of the mattress support surface and an abutting second sub-foundation free of a motorized actuator. The second foundation is mechanically coupled to the first foundation such that articulation of the first sub-foundation results in a similar articulation in the second foundation. The first and second foundations have similar length, height and width dimensions, which collectively approximates the size of the oversized mattress configured to accommodate two supine users, e.g., king size, queen size, California king size, or the like.

Support panel pivoting system for a patient support device
A backrest pivoting system can have a backrest and an actuator for pivoting the backrest. The actuator is pivotably connected to the backrest by a pivot defining a first pivot axis. The backrest can pivot about a guide member which defines a second pivot axis coaxial with the first pivot axis. A backrest pivoting system can include an actuator and a resilient member mounted in series with the actuator. There is also provided an extendable user support assembly comprising a lower body support panel and a core support panel supported by a frame, the lower body support panel being translatable relative to the frame such that an opening is created between the lower body support panel and the core support panel when the lower body support panel is translated away from the core support panel. There is also provided a method for placing a bed in a vascular position.
