BEDROOM MATTRESS APPLIANCE
20240081549 · 2024-03-14 ·

A mattress appliance has components that control the remote filling and emptying of an air bladder to levitate a bedroom mattress. The levitation provides access to the outer, lower portions of the mattress to facilitate the installation and removal of an elastic skirted fitted sheet, along with associated bedding, such as mattress pads, flat sheets and blankets. The air bladder is remotely controlled since its air inlet or connection for filling and emptying is not accessible under the mattress. The air bladder size is smaller in both length and width than the corresponding mattress size to provide the hand room needed for convenient access. The components include: an air bladder, an air pump, a solenoid air valve, an on/off switch for the air pump and the solenoid valve, a flexible hose from the air pump and solenoid valve to the air bladder, and an electrical supply cord to the switch.

Mattress securing system

A device for securing a mattress and foundation so that they stay in alignment during use. The device includes a pair of cups to engage a corner of a mattress lying on an underlying foundation. One cup engages the mattress and the other the foundation. A hinge region connects the two cups such that the mattress and foundation remain aligned. The device can further include fasteners to secure the cups to the mattress and foundation.

Adjustable power bed layer
10463163 · 2019-11-05 · ·

An adjustable power bed layer that has a bed frame that folds from a flattened state to a folded state and from a flattened state to an adjusted state. The bed frame has an inner and outer frame that nest with each other in the flattened state. Head side and foot side actuators drive sliding members back and forth along respective tracks to pivot respective articulating frames between the flattened and adjusted states. The articulating frames are part of one of the inner and outer frames and the tracks are connected to the other of the inner and outer frames. In the folded state, the bed frame is positioned to that one of head side and foot side actuators becomes accessible for maintenance and servicing from above depending upon which way the bed frame is folded about its folding pivot.

Two mattresses, of a same a different depth, share a same length and width. Each is in a shape of a rectangular prism and when placed one on top of the other, a larger rectangular prism is created. In order to hold the two mattresses in place when used together, a connector or connectors emanating from the sides or corners of each mattress are used. Such connectors can include hoop and loop fasteners, rings, hooks, lengths of fabric, and any combination thereof which hold the mattresses together in a taut manner.

Folding mattress-retention mechanism

A mechanism for securing a mattress on a bed foundation is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to a folding mattress-retention mechanism that may compactly fold or be easily removed during shipping or storage. The folding mattress-retention mechanism includes a mattress-support structure, a first hinged attachment, and a second hinged attachment. The mattress-support structure includes a first and second end and may abut a side of a mattress atop a bed foundation. The first and second hinged attachments are coupled to the mattress-support structure at the respective first and second ends and may either affix or removably attach the folding mattress-retention mechanism to the foot, head, or sides of a bed foundation. Further, the hinged attachments may allow for movement, and the folding mattress-retention mechanism may move into and between an operable first position and a stowed second position.

MATTRESS-RETENTION DECKING

A mattress-retention system is provided that maintains a mattress in place on an adjustable bed base. The base has a decking with sections that articulate to move the mattress into any of a variety of support positions. The decking is typically covered with a fabric. A pattern of micro-hook strips is coupled to the fabric, facing outwardly towards the mattress. The pattern of micro-hook strips may be contained within only one section, but may also be contained in other sections, or may cross-over multiple sections. This pattern of micro-hook strips interacts with the mattress to retain it in place.

MATTRESS-RETENTION ASSEMBLY

A mattress-retention assembly is provided that prevents a mattress from moving on an adjustable bed during articulation. The assembly includes a receiver plate coupled to adjustable mattress, where the receiver plate has a first coupling mechanism associated with an interior passage. The assembly further includes a grommet, having a hollow interior, disposed within the decking on the bed. The assembly further includes a male connector, having a second coupling mechanism that attaches to the first coupling mechanism of the receiver plate.

The present disclosure provides one or more embodiments involving a novel bedding system that, for example, promotes control of a blanket, a sheet, and/or a pillowcase. The present disclosure improves and maintains bedding placement when one is in a bed, such that a blanket does not become congested or misaligned in relation to a top sheet or in relation to the bed itself. One or more embodiments of the bedding system include buttons located on the sheet and/or pillowcase that feed through holes on the blanket and the opposite side of the pillowcase, thereby securing the sheet to the blanket and allowing the pillowcase to reliably encapsulate a pillow contained within.

Mattress corner retainer bracket
11998116 · 2024-06-04 · ·

A mattress corner retainer bracket having a flex segment pivotally mounted to an adjustable bed frame and having two retention segments spaced apart that are each joined to the flex segment. Each of the three segments extend in different respective planes relative to each other. As a mattress flexes in unison with adjustable movement imparted by the adjustable bed frame, the mattress corners impart a force against the two retention segments, which retain the mattress in its relative position on the adjustable bed frame by preventing the mattress from sliding off. The two retention segments are joined to each other via a joining rod that extends within the flex plane.
