In at least one embodiment of a device for orienting bedding relative to a bed, the device comprises a first portion comprising at least one first piercing element and/or at least one first receiver extending therefrom or defined therein, and a second portion comprising at least one second piercing element and/or at least one second receiver extending therefrom or defined therein, wherein when the first portion and/or the second portion are positioned through a portion of bedding, the at least one first piercing element and the at least one second piercing element are engaged by the at least one first receiver and the at least one second receiver, respectively, to secure the device to the bedding.
Apparatuses and methods for placing a covering about a mattress
An apparatus and method for manipulating a covering such as a bed sheet are provided. The apparatus, in one form, includes a proximal grip portion and a distal covering engaging portion including a plurality of spaced-apart protrusions for engaging with corresponding spaced-apart openings in the covering. The apparatus includes end stop portions adjacent to the protrusions for limiting how far the protrusions may extend through the openings in the covering. A tool receiving portion of the covering may take the form of a pocket or spaced-apart openings that are located in at least one corner portion of the cover. The installation tool engages with the openings in the covering to manipulate the cover and reduces the need to bend over or crouch down to reach around or underneath the mattress when placing the sheet about the mattress.
ACTIVE MATTRESS SPINNER
A device is disclosed for facilitating rotation of a mattress in a horizontal plane carried by a box spring or a platform. In order to facilitate rotation, slick surfaces between the mattress and the box spring or platform are selectively placed in contact in order to reduce the normal friction therebetween. The slick surfaces may be provided by two (2) separate covers; one cover for the mattress and one cover for the box spring or platform. A first cover is provided with a slick and non-slick surface. In order to further facilitate rotation, a second cover includes a slick surface on one side and forms part of a levitation device. The other side of the second cover may be formed with a slick or a non-slick surface. The levitation device creates an air cushion between the mattress and the box spring under the influence of an air supply which lifts the mattress and allows the mattress to be rotated in a horizontal plane virtually effortlessly. Once the mattress has been rotated to the desired position, the air supply is removed and the first cover is attached to the underside of the mattress so that its non-slick side is in contact with the box spring or platform or bed skirt and its slick side is in contact with the slick side of the other cover and the levitation device defining a normal mode of operation. In a rotate mode of operation, the first cover is attached to the box spring or platform so that its non-slick surface is in contact therewith. Alternatively, the first cover may be integrally incorporated into the box spring or a slick surface may be integrally formed on the platform that forms part of the platform bed. In this embodiment, in order to reduce movement of the mattress with respect to the box spring or platform, the mattress is secured relative to the box spring or platform by removable fasteners in a normal mode of operation. In yet another alternate embodiment of the invention, a portion of the levitation device may be built into the mattress.
BED SHEET FASTENER
The present application discloses a bedsheet fastening device for fastening bedsheet to a mattress and holding it in place. The device comprises magnets configured to hold the bedsheet to the mattress and prevent it from rumpling. In some embodiments, the device comprises a plurality sets of magnets with each set of magnets comprising a first piece of magnet and a second piece of magnet. The first piece of magnet is affixed to the mattress and the second piece of magnet can be attached to and removed from the first piece of magnet. The plurality sets of magnets are arranged on the mattress and can hold a bedsheet securely in place. The bedsheet can be removed by separating the first piece of magnet from the second piece in each set. In some embodiments, magnets are housed in a protective cover or a holder, for example, an insert or a panel.
Mattress set lifting apparatus and method(s) of use thereof
A mattress set lifting apparatus and method(s) of use thereof is described. Embodiments of the mattress set lifting apparatus include pneumatic cylinders coupled to a box spring of a mattress set. The pneumatic cylinders can be adapted to elevate a mattress set allowing a user to more easily change their sheets. After the sheets have been changed, the user can lower the mattress set back down for regular use.
Easy change mattress sheet attachment system
An example easy change mattress sheet attachment system includes a bed sheet having four sewn-on fabric casings in an arch shape and a cord inserted through the casings forming a set of accessible sections of drawstring at exposed between-casing cord regions at four corners, and a bottom mat having means for trapping drawstrings at four corners. After having installed the bottom mat under the mattress, one can install and remove the top sheet onto and from the mattress without having to lift up the mattress. To install the top sheet, first put the top sheet on the mattress, then execute drawstring-trapping maneuvers at four bed corners. To remove the top sheet, detach the engaged drawstrings at four bed corners.
SELF-MAKING BEDDING SYSTEM, METHOD AND KIT THEREOF
A bedding system, method and kit for the automation and ventilation of an existing duvet are disclosed. The system has an inflatable lining configured to be inserted and affixed into a cover together with the duvet, the inflatable lining comprising a network of pneumatic chambers defining a plurality of openings extending through the lining allowing air to circulate through the lining; and an air blower operatively connected to the inflatable lining for blowing air into the network of pneumatic chambers, so as in use, the inflatable lining is inflated to allow for the duvet and its cover to be straightened back into position after every use of the bed. The system can also include a sub-network for providing warm or cold air to control the temperature of the bedding. In contrast to traditional systems, the proposed invention is light weight and easily adaptable to current commercially available beds.
BED SHEET SYSTEM
A system and method of changing a sheet for a mattress of a bed is provided. More specifically, a bedding system includes a retention element sized to be retained on the mattress. A first bedding element is selectively interconnected to the retention system. Optionally, a second bedding element may be interconnected to the first bedding element. In one embodiment, at least one two-part closure interconnects the first bedding element to the retention element. In another embodiment, buttons interconnect the second bedding element to the first bedding element. In yet another embodiment, at least one two-part closure interconnects the second bedding element to the first bedding element. The two-part closure may be a zipper, a plurality of snaps, and a hook and loop system. In one embodiment, the retention element is removably interconnected to the mattress by at least one fastener or closure.
Bed and frame assembly
A bed and frame assembly includes a box that is positionable on a horizontal support surface. A pair of tracks is each of the tracks is removably disposed on the box. A lid is slidably disposed on the box for supporting a mattress. The lid is positionable in a first position to close the box or a second position to facilitate sheets on the mattress to be changed. A plurality of roller units is each disposed on the lid and rollably engages a respective one of the tracks to facilitate the lid to be rolled between the first position and the second position. A sliding unit is integrated into the box and the sliding unit is in mechanical communication with the lid. The sliding unit is actuatable in a closing condition for sliding the lid into the first position and the sliding unit is actuatable in an opening condition for sliding the lid into the second position.
BEDROOM MATTRESS APPLIANCE
A mattress appliance has components that control the remote filling and emptying of an air bladder to levitate a bedroom mattress. The levitation provides access to the outer, lower portions of the mattress to facilitate the installation and removal of an elastic skirted fitted sheet, along with associated bedding, such as mattress pads, flat sheets and blankets. The air bladder is remotely controlled since its air inlet or connection for filling and emptying is not accessible under the mattress. The air bladder size is smaller in both length and width than the corresponding mattress size to provide the hand room needed for convenient access. The components include: an air bladder, an air pump, a solenoid air valve, an on/off switch for the air pump and the solenoid valve, a flexible hose from the air pump and solenoid valve to the air bladder, and an electrical supply cord to the switch.
