A device for a toilet bowl, including a mechanism for holding the toilet rim block to the toilet bowl. The invention further relates to at least one, preferably at least two toilet rim blocks, each having an outer cover and a core, and to a rim block cage including the toilet rim block. The outer cover includes a first composition and the core includes a second composition. Preferably, the first and the second compositions differ from each other by at least one of the following features: different active substances, different concentration but same active substance, and different viscosity. The outer cover partly encloses the core and the core protrudes on at least one face of the toilet rim block right to the surface as a pole and is exposed.

A composition for treating a hard surface. The composition has: (a) at least one adhesion promoter; (b) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of: anionic, non-ionic, cationic, amphoteric, zwitterionic, and combinations thereof; (c) mineral oil; (d) water; (e) optionally, at least one solvent; and wherein the composition is self-adhering upon application to a surface to be treated, and wherein the composition provides a wet film to said surface when water passes over said composition and surface.

A lavatory cleansing block including: an alkane sulfonate; a carboxymethylcellulose; a hydrophobe; and optionally a dye, wherein the alkane sulfonate is present in an amount of 15 to 40% by weight of the total block, the weight ratio of alkane sulfonate to carboxymethylcellulose is 3:1 to 8:1 and the total weight of the block is less than 25 g.

A solid cleansing composition including a hydrocarbyl sulfate and at least one of an acyl taurate and a betaine.

A dissolvable toilet cleaning solid tablet includes an anionic surfactant; virgin soap pellets; and borax, and desirably, a carbonate or bicarbonate salt; and an acid. The borax comprises about 0.5% to about 10% by weight of the composition, and the virgin soap pellets comprise about 12% to about 25% by weight of the composition.

The present invention relates to a method of making a solid cleaning composition. The method can include pressing and/or vibrating a flowable solid of a self-solidifying cleaning composition. For a self-solidifying cleaning composition, pressing and/or vibrating a flowable solid determines the shape and density of the solid but is not required for forming a solid. The method can employ a concrete block machine for pressing and/or vibrating. The present invention also relates to a solid cleaning composition made by the method and to solid cleaning compositions including particles bound together by a binding agent.

A dissolvable unit dose toilet cleaning composition for use with a wand. The unit dose contains surfactant, an organic acid, an organic acid buffering agent, and a dye system including a desiccant, a water-soluble dye, and optionally a colorant. The composition is compressed into a tablet or puck wherein at least 30% dissolves in 10 minutes when submerged in toilet water. Upon exposing a surface of the unit dose composition to water in the toilet, the water-soluble dye colors the water in the toilet. Pressing the wetted surface of the unit dose composition to a surface of the toilet, the water-soluble dye colors the surface of the toilet.

A cleansing device is described. The cleansing device includes a carrier. The carrier has at least one cavity defined therein. The at least one cavity is to receive at least one additive composition and to maintain the at least one additive composition. The additive composition is to be applied to a surface. The device also includes a housing that holds the carrier and at least one additive composition during application of the additive composition to the surface.

The present invention is directed to a mild bar composition with enhanced antimicrobial activity. The bar composition of the present invention is mild and unexpectedly yields superior antimicrobial activity when used in cleansing applications. The bar composition comprises an anionic surfactant and an acid, and is formulated, when lathered, to generate a wash slurry having a pH from 2.9 to 5.2.

Solid detergent compositions according to the present invention include at least one alkali metal silicate, at least one polycarboxylic acid, at least one saccharide or sugar alcohol and water. Suitable saccharides include sucrose, fructose, inulin, maltose and lactulose, and may be present in the composition in a concentration of at least 0.5 wt %. Compositions according to certain embodiments form stable solid block detergent compositions that do not swell significantly even when subjected to elevated temperatures.
