Synergistic surfactant package for cleaning of food and oily soils
The disclosure relates a surfactant package for use in hard surface cleaning compositions, preferably floor cleaning compositions which pair an anionic linear alkyl sulfonate surfactant and a nonionic surfactant in a ratio of 1:1 to 9:1. This combination provides for synergistic cleaning of both proteinaceous food soils (red soils) and hydrocarbon-based oily soils (black soils) while also reducing foam produced by the composition. Synergistic nonionic surfactants include EO/PO alcohol alkoxylates or EO/PO fatty alcohol surfactants with a propylene oxide to ethylene oxide to ratio of greater than 1.
STABLE ANHYDROUS LAUNDRY DETERGENT CONCENTRATE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
The invention relates to stable, anhydrous laundry detergent concentrated formulation in solid forms.
Cleansing compositions and methods of use thereof
A method of improving the rinsability of a cleansing composition comprising an isethionate ester surfactant of formula R.sup.6COOCH.sub.2CH.sub.2SO.sub.3.sup.M.sup.+ the method comprising incorporating into the composition one or more compounds of formula (I) wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.6 each independently represents a C.sub.4-36 substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; each of R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 independently represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group and wherein at least one of R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is not hydrogen and M+ represents a cation. ##STR00001##
CLEANSING COMPOSITION
A cleansing composition comprises a surfactant and a structurant. The structurant comprises a mixture of a fatty acid and a fatty acid soap. The fatty acid is present in an amount of greater than or equal to 88% by weight of the mixture. preferably greater than or equal to 95% by weight of the mixture. more preferably greater than or equal to 99% by weight of the mixture.
Cleansing Bars with Phenoxyethanol
A cleansing bar composition comprising at least one cleanser chosen from soap and surfactant; phenoxyethanol; and one or more hydrophobic stabilizing agents, wherein the composition is a solid cleansing bar. Also methods of enhancing the deposition of phenoxyethanol by a cleansing bar comprising the step of pre-mixing phenoxyethanol with one or more hydrophobic deposition aids during manufacturing of the cleansing bar.
Personal care compositions and articles
A compliant personal care composition can include a granular personal care composition, including i) from about 20% to about 80%, by weight of the composition, of a surfactant; and ii) from about 3% to about 40%, by weight of the composition, a water insoluble hygroscopic fiber, fine, or filament; wherein the composition is granular before a first simulated use and has a compliance value of about 0.01 kg/mm to about 1.5 kg/mm after 2 simulated uses. The composition may also be at least partially surrounded by a substrate and in the form of an article.
Personal care composition and method of use thereof
A solid personal care composition comprising at least 60 wt % of one or more solid surfactants of which at least 10 wt % comprises one or more compounds of formula (I) wherein R.sup.1 represents a C.sub.4-36 substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; each of R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 independently represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group and wherein at least one of R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is not hydrogen; and M+ represents a cation. ##STR00001##
Soap bar
Provided herein is a method for reducing or inhibiting the crystallization of taurine in a soap bar, wherein the method comprises: a) admixing a fatty acid soap with an aqueous solution of taurine or taurine salt as a taurine source to form an amalgamate and b) preparing a soap bar comprising the amalgamate. Further provided is a soap bar obtained by the above method.
Preserving personal care compositions
Multi-use personal care compositions and articles can include a surfactant, a water insoluble hygroscopic fine, fiber, or filament, and a preservative, where such compositions and articles can show an improved preservative property versus unpreserved compositions.
