METHOD FOR TREATING FABRICS WITH A VARYING PH PROFILE DURING WASH AND RINSE CYCLES
The present invention relates to a method for treating fabrics by contacting the fabrics with an aqueous wash liquor at varying pH values that increase from about 7-9 to about 10-13 (optionally down to about 7-9), maintaining such contact at pH 10-13 for about 5-30 minutes, followed by contacting the fabrics with an aqueous rinse liquor at an acid pH value of about 4-6. Such method provides a significantly improved stain removal benefit without any formulation changes. Further, it enables the use of laundry detergent compositions that are essentially free of alkoxylated surfactants, such as alkylalkoxylated sulfates or alkylalkoxylated alcohols, while still delivering satisfactory stain removal results.
Method of minimizing enzyme based aerosol mist using a pressure spray system
Disclosed herein are methods for improving safety and delivery of commercial application of cleaning compositions that include enzymes and other protein irritants. The methods reduce the mist and aerosolization of proteins so that inhalation and exposure to the same are reduced. According to the invention, when commercial pressurized sprayers are used to apply protein containing use cleaning compositions of up to 5 ppm protein, aerosolization is decreased to below 60 ng active protein per meter cubed. Applicants have also identified a specific metering tip/nozzle, dispense rate, and low pressure application of not more than 100 psi are critical to achieving the benefits of the invention.
SHORT-TERM WASH TREATMENT OF PRODUCE
A produce wash system is provided. The produce wash system includes a produce line including a short-term wash device and a rinse transition component followed by a wash device, a short-term wash treatment that is applied by the short-term wash device to a product, wherein the short-term wash treatment remains on the product for a pretreatment time that lasts until the short-term wash treatment is rinsed off, and a rinse solution applied by the rinse transition component that rinses the product after the product leaves the short-term wash device and before the product enters the wash device, and a wash treatment that is applied by the wash device to the product, wherein the wash treatment rinses any remaining short-term wash treatment from the product. The pretreatment time is set at or below a damage threshold time beyond which the short-term wash treatment damages the product beyond a damage threshold.
Composition and method for continuous or intermittent removal of soil from recirculated washing solution
A method of removing food soils from a recirculated washing solution includes adding a flocculating agent to the recirculated washing solution and separating the particulates from the recirculated washing solution using a hydrocyclone. The flocculating agent causes a portion of the food soils to combine into particulates having a higher density.
SUBSTRATE TREATING METHOD, SUBSTRATE TREATING LIQUID AND SUBSTRATE TREATING APPARATUS
A substrate treating method, liquid and apparatus are provided which can reduce the amount of sublimable substance used for the drying of a substrate while reducing the collapse of pattern. The substrate treating method includes a step of supplying a liquid to the pattern-formed surface of the substrate, a step of solidifying the liquid on the pattern-formed surface to form a solidified body and a step of subliming the solidified body so as to remove it from the pattern-formed surface. The substrate treating liquid includes a molten sublimable substance and a solvent, the freezing point of the sublimable substance being higher than the freezing point of the solvent. When the sublimable substance and the solvent are separated, the sublimable substance is settled and in the solidification step, the settled sublimable substance is solidified to have a height equal to or higher than the height of a pattern.
Cleaning System for a Printing Press Recirculation System
A cleaning system is provided for a printing press recirculation system, in which the cleaning system generates a plurality of bubbles within a fountain solution of the printing press recirculation system. The cleaning system includes (i) a first composition comprising a solid blend including (a) a first alkaline cleaning agent having a first alkaline strength, (b) a detergent salt, (c) a non-foaming emulsifying agent, and (d) a second alkaline cleaning agent having a second alkaline strength, in which the first alkaline strength is greater than the second alkaline strength; (ii) a second composition comprising one or more organic acids. Also provided are methods of cleaning a printing press recirculation system.
Systems And Processes For Treating Textiles With An Antimicrobial Agent
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a method of treating a textile with an antimicrobial agent over a plurality of laundry cycles each including a wash cycle and a treatment cycle. The method includes (a) receiving a textile in a wash system for a first laundry cycle, (b) initiating a wash cycle comprising a detergent, (c) initiating a post-detergent treatment cycle comprising dosing the textile with a solution having a predetermined concentration of an antimicrobial agent that comprises a metallic ion, and (c) repeating steps (a)-(c) for each of a plurality of additional laundry cycles. The predetermined concentration is insufficient to achieve a predetermined antimicrobial efficacy for the textile due to the first laundry cycle alone but sufficient to achieve the predetermined antimicrobial efficacy for the textile due to a combination of the first laundry cycle and one or more of the plurality of additional laundry cycles.
Restorative cleaning Process
The present invention is a deep cleaning process for carpets through its unique restorative cleaning process. The present comprises a use of restorative cleaning agent and cleansers according to the pH level of the stain, and a method either of agitating with hand-held polyester carpet brush or of rotary power scrubbing with polyester brush. Through its unique deep cleaning process including anti-ghost stain treatment to prevent the stain from re-appearing, the present invention will yield cleaner cleaning process than the industry standard cleaning method. In an alternative embodiment of the Restorative Cleaning Process of the present invention, man-made carpet fibers are cleaned using a series of cleaning steps designed to extract soil particulates from the fibers of the carpet and decrease the time it takes for the carpet to dry. In addition, an anti-reappearing ghost spot device utilizing the anti-reappearing ghost spot post-treatment is used to prevent spots from re-appearing.
Two solution stain removal systems and methods comprising an alcohol-based solution and a peroxide-based solution
Systems and methods are provided for removing a stain from a surface. A first solution is applied to the stain, wherein the first solution comprises a combination of an ammoniated substance such as ammonium hydroxide and an alcohol such as isopropanol. A second solution is then applied to the stain treated with the first solution, wherein the second solution comprises between approximately 6% and approximately 15% hydrogen peroxide.
