METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS
A method of laundering articles, the method comprising combining a detergent composition and water to provide a detergent solution, wherein the detergent composition comprises a surfactant system containing a betaine, then introducing into a washing machine basket the detergent solution so as to dampen articles in the basket; and then waiting for a duration of time during which no water or further detergent solution is added to the basket containing the dampened articles.
STAIN REMOVAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods are provided for removing a stain from a surface. A first solution is applied to the stain, wherein the first solution comprises a combination of an ammoniated substance such as ammonium hydroxide and an alcohol such as isopropanol. A second solution is then applied to the stain treated with the first solution, wherein the second solution comprises between approximately 6% and approximately 15% hydrogen peroxide.
Additive compositions for pigmented disinfection and methods thereof
The invention provides to a powdered composition of additives and a method of use thereof for increasing the visibility, potency and coverage of disinfectant solutions, such as bleach.
POLYSTYRENE AND/OR STYRENE COPOLYMERS SOLUBILIZING COMPOSITION
A composition for solubilizing polystyrene and/or styrene copolymers, including a first component and a second component, in which the first component is selected from solvents having a flashpoint of at least 25? C., and the second component is soluble in the first component. The use of the composition as a cleaning composition for the removal of polystyrene and/or styrene copolymers from a surface and a method for the removal of polystyrene and/or styrene copolymers from a surface.
Methods of using a soil release polymer in a prewash composition
The invention provides methods of cleaning including the use of a soil release polymer. In some embodiments, the soil release polymer can be included in a neutral to low alkalinity prewash or main wash that is substantially free of hydroxide-based alkalinity. In some embodiments, the soil release polymer can be included in a neutral to low alkalinity prewash that is substantially free of hydroxide-based alkalinity, followed by an alkaline main wash with any alkalinity source.
SOLIDIFYING LIQUID AMINE OXIDE, BETAINE, AND/OR SULTAINE SURFACTANTS WITH A CARRIER
The invention relates to solidification of liquid amine oxide, betaine, and/or sultaine surfactants with a carrier to form a solidified surfactant composition. In particular, the invention relates to solidification of liquid surfactants utilizing drying device(s), wherein the feed composition contains at least one liquid surfactant and a carrier to form a solidified surfactant composition. The solidified surfactant compositions can be useful in various cleaning compositions.
Two step method of cleaning, sanitizing, and rinsing a surface
Methods employing detergent compositions comprising phosphinosuccinic acid oligomers (PSO) in combination with a sanitizing rinse aid are disclosed. The methods beneficially clean, sanitize and rinse a surface in an efficient two-step process. The detergent compositions employ phosphinosuccinic acid adducts, namely mono-, bis- and oligomeric phosphinosuccinic acid (PSO) derivatives, in combination with an alkalinity source and optionally polymers and/or surfactants. The sanitizing and rinsing compositions employ peroxycarboxylic acid compositions in combination with a nonionic defoaming and wetting surfactant.
Decontamination and cleaning process for hydrocarbon contaminated equipment
The present invention relates to a process for removing noxious gases and cleaning hydrocarbon contaminants from equipment at a refinery, plant, or other facility during a turnaround period. The process includes injecting an aromatic solvent into the contaminated equipment with a gas stream, such as steam, and an additive. The combination of the steam and the chemical blend of solvent and additive dissolves harmful hydrocarbon material and removes noxious vapors from the equipment in a manner that is faster, more efficient, and can be performed at a significantly lower cost.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING A SUBSTRATE WITH SOLID PARTICLES
A method for treating a substrate comprising the steps of: (i) rotating a composition comprising a liquid medium, the substrate and solid particles having a particle size of from 1 to 100 mm; (ii) separating at least some of the solid particles from the substrate; and (iii) rinsing the substrate; wherein: steps ii. and iii. are each performed at least twice and the first time steps ii and iii are conducted the sequence of steps is either i, ii, iii, ii or i, iii, ii, iii; and/or during the separation step ii. the composition is rotated for a first time period at a centripetal G force of <1 G and for a second time period at a centripetal force of >1 G and at least one of the first and second time periods is no longer than 60 seconds.
Odor reduction
The present invention relates to a method for reducing odor generated by the activity of a lipase comprising a step of adding to said lipase a peptide capable of binding to the lipase.
