ANAEROBIC DIGESTION DEVICE BASED ON SELF-SUSTAINED AIR FLOTATION
An anaerobic digestion device based on self-sustained air flotation includes an anaerobic digestion tank unit, a self-sustained air flotation screening unit and a biogas measurement and collection unit. The self-sustained air flotation screening unit includes an air flotation screening part, a material sedimentation part, a reflux part and a three-phase separation part connected sequentially from bottom to top. A digested material in the anaerobic digestion tank unit is pumped into the air flotation screening part, overflows into the material sedimentation part, and then is raised to the reflux part. Gas passing through the three-phase separation part and gas produced in the anaerobic digestion tank unit enter the biogas measurement and collection unit to be measured and collected.
ALGAE INCUBATOR
A system for algae incubation including a reactor cell adapted to grow algae, a support buoy secured to the reactor cell, and a floating vessel secured to the reactor cell.
Average-density-adjustable structure, and material change and selective bonding process using same
The present invention relates to an average-density-adjustable structure and more specifically provides a structure the average density of which is adjusted by changing the material of the structure and the size of a void formed therein and which can thereby float on the surface of or in a liquid and can easily bond with or change a material present in a gas or liquid by being equipped with a first material, which is one among an organic catalyst, an inorganic catalyst, a microorganism, and a biomolecule.
Bioreactors with Filters
The invention discloses a bioreactor 10 for cell culture and expansion, comprising a bioreactor chamber 17, a filter 13 disposed within the chamber 17 and at least one tether 14 loosely tethering the filter to the bioreactor chamber. In an embodiment, the tether(s) allow the filter 13 to move from side to side and/or up and down within the chamber 17, preferably without touching an inner surface of the bioreactor chamber 17. Alternatives show, two, three or four tethers, but one or more tethers can be used.
DEVICE FOR EXPOSING AN ALGAL SOLUTION TO LIGHT, ASSOCIATED PHOTOBIOREACTOR AND IMPLEMENTATION METHOD
Disclosed is a device for exposing an algal solution to light, for a photobioreactor, this exposure device including a flat support including at least one opening capable of holding at least one shaft, the shaft being made of a liquid-tight, translucent or even transparent flexible material, and including an open end capable of holding a sleeve, the sleeve being translucent, or even transparent, and arranged to seal and attach the shaft to the support. The exposure device has positive floatability in water. Also disclosed is a photobioreactor equipped with such a device and a start-up method for such a photobioreactor.
Systems and methods for monitoring behavior of cells and/or tissues in culturing media
Systems and methods for monitoring and tracking the behavior of cells and tissues in a culturing medium, for example, in a cell culture medium or an in vivo tissue environment, using a tissue scaffold system having one or more sensor arrays. Such monitoring systems include a tissue scaffold system and one or more sensor arrays on the tissue scaffold system in vertically stackable configurations. The sensor array(s) are configured to monitor electrical impedance and/or electrophysiological activities of cells or tissues which may be provided to an external data acquisition system for production of a three-dimensional (3D) map.
COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MICROALGAE AND METHODS OF PRODUCING AND USING SAME
A floatable composition comprising obligate photoautotrophic microalgae and a floating element is provided. Also provided is a compartmentalized composition comprising at least two compartments wherein a first compartment of the at least two compartments comprises an obligate photoautotrophic microalgae and a second compartment of the at least two compartments comprises an obligate heterotrophic or mixotrophic microalgae, the compartments are designed of a structure and/or composition ensuring symbiosis between the obligate photoautotrophic microalgae and the obligate heterotrophic or mixotrophic microalgae.
FLOATING HORIZONTAL TUBULAR PHOTOBIOREACTOR SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED MANIFOLDS FOR HOUSING PUMPING AND PROCESS MONITORING AND CONTROL DEVICES
This invention relates to a floating horizontal tubular photobioreactor system comprising a photosynthetically active area made of flexible tubes connected to rigid manifolds with an integrated system for mixing, aeration and degassing. This invention further relates to methods of using the floating photobioreactor system.
Device for producing a photosynthetic culture by means of a photo-bioreactor and at least one light distributor
Disclosed is a photosynthetic culture production device including at least one photo-bioreactor chamber having a supply/discharge unit, and including: an aqueous liquid containing a photosynthetic culture; at least one unit for supplying and discharging fluids from the chamber interacting with a management system; at least one light distributor including at least one first wall arranged so as to receive the light at a proximal end, at least one second wall arranged so as to emit at least part of the received light, and a sealed cavity defined by the at least one first wall and the at least one second wall, part of the emitting wall being immersed in the aqueous liquid containing the photosynthetic culture; at least one fluid partially filling the sealed cavity; and a cover, limiting evaporation. The cover has at least one opening, keeping the at least one light distributor stationary in the chamber.
