A seed slicer device (100), which has: a first plate (102) provided with first holes (104); a second plate (106) provided with second holes (108), adapted to fit over the first plate; a sliding plate (110) slidably coupled to a top portion of the second plate, operable to cover the second holes; a third plate (112) provided with a third holes (114), adapted to fit over the second plate; and a cutting assembly (116) coupled to the third plate and adapted to slide over the third holes to provide a slicing action; the seeds are received by the third holes such that at least a first part of the seeds extend beyond the third holes, and, upon actuation of the cutting assembly, the seeds are cut by the cutting means to divide the seeds into corresponding first parts and second parts.

A seed-containing crayon is presented. The crayon includes an elongated member formed of a marking composition to leave a colored mark on a surface when the elongated member contacts the surface. The marking composition is formed of a wax, a pigment, and a plant nutrient that is activated by application of water to the elongated member. Plant seeds are embedded in the marking composition of the elongated member. The crayon can include a paper band that at least partially surrounds the elongated member along at least part of the length of the elongated member in which the plant seeds are embedded.

A plant growing device includes an envelope made of a vacuum formed film and having substantially planar first and second walls interconnected by a surrounding wall. A plant growing medium is enclosed by the envelope. The first and second walls each has a plurality of micro-holes, and a network of interconnected ribs that are indented from an outer surface of the first or second wall to define a plurality of flow guide channels. The second wall further has openings to receive plants. The first wall further has drain holes. The envelope has high air permeability due to the micro-holes while still possessing a relative high strength due to the network of ribs.

A seed label including a label layer removably attached to a clear film layer by an adhesive layer, and at least one seed disposed between the label layer and clear film layer. The label layer may be made of a biodegradable material. The adhesive layer may be a dry release-clean release adhesive layer. The label layer may include water-based ink printing thereon. The adhesive layer may be a water-based adhesive. The seed label may be removably affixed to a package. The seed label may be disposable in a container for germinating the seeds. A method of manufacturing a seed label, includes providing a label layer, automatically placing at least one seed on one side of the label layer, and automatically attaching the label layer to a clear film layer by an adhesive layer, with the seed disposed between the label layer and clear film layer.
