Bioreactor for Cell Culture
20230085157 · 2023-03-16 ·

The present invention relates to a bioreactor for cell culture. According to an embodiment of the present invention, vibration is provided to a cell culture solution (solution) to facilitate cell separation, and, since the vibration is transmitted to the entire cell culture solution without dead zones, cell separation efficiency is excellent.

INCUBATOR

The present invention can provide an incubator having not only a favorable cell culture function but also an autonomous decontamination function that saves the need for connection to an external decontamination device.

The incubator provided with a culture vessel, a circulating means, a temperature-regulating means, and a gas supplying means for supplying a decontamination gas or a humidifying water vapor. The gas supplying means includes a compressed gas generating means, a decontamination solution supplying means, a water supplying means, a mixed gas/liquid regulator, and a vaporizer for generating a decontamination gas or a water vapor. The gas supplying means acts as a decontamination means for supplying the decontamination gas to the air circulating in the circulation passage during an autonomous decontamination before cells are cultured, and the gas supplying means acts as a humidifying means for humidifying the air circulating in the circulation passage when cells are cultured after the autonomous decontamination.

A bioreactor including a housing, a first fluid dispenser and a second fluid dispenser. The bioreactor is configured to receive a scaffold mounted within the housing with the first and second fluid dispensers being positioned to apply respective first and second fluids to at least two different regions of a mounted scaffold.

Apparatuses and systems for preparing a meat product

The apparatuses described herein relate to preparation of a meat product. Apparatuses, systems comprising the apparatuses, and methods of making and use the systems and apparatuses are described herein. These are useful for controlling one or more of growth on and separation of a meat product from an enclosed substrate. The apparatuses and systems are configured to receive fluid and grow the meat product and/or separate the meat product from the substrate in a scalable manner.

Trophowell

A platform for testing cell response to biochemical agents. The TrophoWell™ includes a well which contains a gel, and a plurality of capillaries that open into it. Cells and various biochemical agents such as drugs and growth factors are flown through those capillaries. The platform allows for the evaluation of cell response by imaging. The platform is a cost effective testing platform and can be used in the fields for drug discovery and personalized medicine.

Photobioreactors, gas concentrators, and periodic surfaces

A system for growing algae includes a photobioreactor comprising a tubular structure having inner and outer surfaces, an annular space defined between the inner and outer surfaces, an inlet to allow an algae slurry to enter the annular space, and a mechanism configured to produce radially-directed contractions and expansions in the tubular structure. At least one of the inner and outer surfaces is transparent to at least some wavelengths of light useful for growing algae within the algae slurry.

BIOREACTOR INSERT AND BIOFILM SUPPORT, RELATED APPARATUS AND RELATED METHODS

The disclosure relates to bioreactors, for example for biological treatment and, more specifically to bioreactor insert apparatus including biofilms and related methods. The bioreactor insert apparatus provides a means for circulation of reaction medium within the bioreactor, a biofilm support, and biological treatment of an inlet feed to die reactor/insert apparatus. The bioreactor insert apparatus has a high relative surface area for biofilm attachment and is capable of generating complex flow patterns and increasing treatment efficiency/biological conversion activity in a biologically-active reactor. The high surface area structure incorporates multiple biofilm support structures such as meshes at inlet and outlet portions of the structure. The biofilm support structures and biofilms thereon can increase overall reaction rate of the bioreactor and/or perform some solid/liquid separation in the treatment of the wastewater or other influent.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF GROWING ALGAE USING GEOTHERMAL GAS

A method of growing algae in a cultivation container is disclosed. In some the method may include: circulating, via the cultivation container, in a closed loop, a first predetermined amount of gas mixture comprising a first type of gas and at least one second type of gas, the gas mixture may enter the container via one or more entrance spargers and exit via at least one exit pipe, the first type of gas may contain CO.sub.2 at a known first amount; receiving signal indicative of the amount of CO.sub.2 or H.sub.2S, in the gas mixture; when the signal indicates that the amount of CO.sub.2 drops below a first predetermined level or when the signal indicates that the amount of H.sub.2S rises above a first predetermined level, extracting a second predetermined amount of the gas mixture from the cultivation container: and adding an amount of the first type of gas to the gas mixture, equal to the second predetermined amount.

PHOTOBIOREACTOR, IN PARTICULAR FOR THE PRODUCTION OF MICRO-ORGANISMS SUCH AS MICROALGAE
20220315874 · 2022-10-06 ·

A photobioreactor is particularly suited for producing micro-organisms such as microalgae. The photobioreactor is a closed reactor with reactor vessels which have an open top that is closed by a top wall of the photobioreactor and in which a nutrient medium can be held. At least some of the reactor vessels are individual vessels. Adjacent reactor vessels form a gap between a front wall and a rear wall, the gap being closed at the top side by an overflow wall region and having a vessel overflow opening between the adjacent reactor vessels. A lighting element is held in the gap. Each of the reactor vessels has a partition which divides the reactor vessel into a front reactor chamber and a rear reactor chamber. At least one partition through-flow opening between the front and rear reactor chambers is formed in the partition close to the bottom wall.
