A method for carrying out a reaction process, in particular for setting the mixing and/or aeration of a reaction liquid while the reaction process is being carried out, which includes filling at least one reaction vessel with at least one reaction liquid, wherein an internal volume of the reaction vessel is not completely filled by the at least one reaction liquid at all times during the reaction process, and changing the internal volume of the reaction vessel in the course of the reaction process, in particular in a targeted manner, which causes a movement of the at least one reaction liquid.

Machine learning and control systems and methods for learning and steering evolutionary dynamics

A technique for learning and steering evolutionary dynamics may include initializing a bioreactor including a population of evolving organisms; determining selection pressures; (a) applying the selection pressures to the population; (b) determining the population state and storing it in a population dataset; (c) detecting whether the population has reached a stable state; (d) if the population has reached the stable state: obtaining data representing the stable state, redetermining the selection pressures based on a selection pressure policy, and storing the data and the redetermined selection pressures in a stable state dataset; (e) determining whether one or more stopping criteria have been met; and repeating steps (a)-(e) until at least one of the stopping criteria is met.

PARALLEL AND INTERCONNECTED CELL CULTURE VESSEL SYSTEM

Embodiments relate to a unique design of a cell growth vessel stack system that provides for inter-communication of cell growth levels arranged in a parallel configuration so to facilitate environmental uniformity of the inter-connected growth surface tiers. The unique design also facilitates a fine-tuning of optimized gas and media flow to each cell growth level within the vessel stack. The unique architecture facilitates media refreshment at conveniently scheduled intervals and/or allows constant perfusion from a media reservoir that can be replenished without interrupting the cell proliferation rate. The perfusion rate, nutrient medium condition, CO2 content and osmolality can be controlled to optimize the desired cell proliferation rate, thereby improving cell quantity, quality, and viability.

Cell culture system, cell culture environment evaluation device, and program

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a cell culture system, a cell culture environment evaluation device, and a program, capable of performing evaluation of a culture environment without causing an adverse effect on cell culture. An isolator is provided with a culture environment for housing a cell culture vessel having a culture solution containing cells to be cultured placed therein. A sensing unit measures the state of the culture environment and transmits the measurement result of the culture environment to the outside of the isolator. A control device receives the measurement result and performs evaluation in the culture environment based on the measurement result.

WELL PLATE INCUBATOR

Incubators including an enclosure with an internal chamber configured to support a cell culture plate comprising a plurality of wells are disclosed. The enclosure includes a plurality of openings configured to allow access to the wells. The incubators include a sealing element configured to seal the plurality of openings in the enclosure. The sealing element comprises a plurality of openings corresponding to at least a subset of the plurality of openings in the enclosure. Access to the internal chamber can be provided by aligning the plurality of openings in the sealing element with the plurality of openings in the enclosure. Methods for using the incubators are also provided.

There is provided a method of controlling operation of a fed batch process in a bioreactor vessel, comprising transitioning from a batch phase to a production phase in dependence on a relationship between an oxygen supply parameter O and a dissolved oxygen value DO.

Incubator with Air Curtain
20230242861 · 2023-08-03 · ·

An incubator for cell and tissue culture under controlled atmospheric conditions has a primary air flow control device that forms a primary, preferably laminar flow, air veil across an opening that allows access to the cells or tissue cultures disposed within the incubator. Preferably, most if not all of the air in the primary (laminar flow) air veil is recirculated, and a secondary air flow control device is used that forms a secondary, preferably laminar flow, air veil between the primary (laminar flow) air veil and a user of the incubator.

Systems and methods of atmospheric carbon dioxide enrichment and delivery to photobioreactors via membrane carbonation

The present application focuses on systems and methods that utilize one or more carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) sorbent substrates and a swing cycle, e.g., a moisture swing cycle, to increase the partial pressure of the CO.sub.2 in a gaseous feedstock, which is delivered through a membrane to a bioreactor, such as a membrane carbonation photobioreactor. Such systems and processes offer an effective means for concentrating and capturing CO.sub.2 obtained from air and delivering the concentrated CO.sub.2 to a photobioreactor through a membrane.
