Edible foodstuffs and bio reactor design
Methods of production of edible filamentous fungal biomat formulations are provided as standalone protein sources and/or protein ingredients in foodstuffs as well as a one-time use or repeated use self-contained biofilm-biomat reactor comprising a container with at least one compartment and placed within the compartment(s), a feedstock, a fungal inoculum, a gas-permeable membrane, and optionally a liquid nutrient medium.
Brachiaria Endophytes and Related Metods
The present invention relates to endophytes, in particular endophytes associated with plants of the Brachiaria-Urochloa species complex, plants infected with the endophytes, products produced by the endophytes, and related methods.
Gene targets for improved enzyme production in fungi
Fungi that are genetically inactivated for the mstC gene (or a homolog thereof) are provided, which can also be genetically modified to increase production of heterologous proteins from a glucoamylase promoter. Methods of using these fungi, for example to degrade a biomass, are also provided.
FUNGAL VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND ENHANCES PLANT GROWTH CHARACTERISTICS
Cladosporium sphaerospermum produces at least one volatile organic compound (VOC). When a plant is exposed to the VOC produced by a strain of C. sphaerospermum, the plant has an increase in at least one growth characteristic compared to the growth characteristic of an untreated plant of the same age as the treated plant.
Restorer plants
Hybrid cereals are described which are obtained by restoring the pollen fertility for the Pampa cytoplasmic male sterility (P-CMS) and which are characterized by a reduced linkage drag. Plants are provided, in particular rye, which, as the male pollen parent, are capable of restoring the pollen fertility for the P-CMS. Furthermore, the nucleic acid molecule which carries the necessary information for restoring the P-CMS, DNA and vectors which contain such a nucleic acid molecule, corresponding host cells as well as a protein which can be encoded by the nucleic acid molecule and antibodies directed against it are also described. Furthermore, methods for the production of corresponding hybrid plants and transgenic plants are provided.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING PREPARATION OF FERMENTED BLACK GINSENG CONTAINING HIGH CONTENT OF FUNCTIONAL INGREDIENTS BASED ON SAFETY BY APPLYING LED
The present invention relates to a method for improving the preparation of fermented black color ginseng containing functional ingredients at high contents based on safety, specifically to a novel Aspergillus niger KHNT-1 strain deposited with accession number KCTC14739BP; an improved process for preparing fermented black color ginseng through treatment with the strain, steaming utilizing pottery, and drying utilizing an LED dryer; fermented black color ginseng containing functional ingredients, ginsenosides Rg5, Rg3, and Rk1, and CK at high contents; and a composition for preventing, improving, or treating coronavirus infectious disease, the composition containing the fermented black color ginseng as an active ingredient.
As the fermented black color ginseng is prepared through fermentation using the novel Aspergillus niger KHNT-1 strain according to the present invention, steaming utilizing pottery as a steamer, and drying (fermentation) utilizing a medical LED as a dryer/fermenter, the method for improving the preparation of fermented black color ginseng is economical and safe since the preparation process takes 7 to 15 days and benzopyrene is not detected in the fermented black color ginseng, and the fermented black color ginseng contains ginsenosides Rg3, Rg5, and Rk1, and CK at high contents, and can be usefully utilized as a high value-added new drug raw material that is required to be contained at a high content per unit and in the field of high-functional food development.
ASPERGILLUS TERREUS STRAIN AND COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING BACTERIAL PLANT DISEASES USING STRAIN OR CULTURE FILTRATE THEREOF
Disclosed are Aspergillus terreus ANU-301 strain (Accession Number: KACC49929), and ANU-301 strain (Accession Number: KACC49929) and a composition for controlling bacterial plant diseases using the culture filtrate. Since the strain or culture filtrate, according to the present disclosure, enhances the stress resistance of plants, it enables sustainable agriculture to eliminate or minimize the use of chemical pesticides.
PLATFORM FOR TOTAL BIOSYNTHESIS OF NATURAL PRODUCTS
The present disclosure relates to transgenic fungal cells and methods of making the same such that the transgenic fungal cells include one or more exogenous biosynthetic gene clusters integrated into the host genome. The genes of the exogenous biosynthetic gene cluster may be operably linked to a transgenic region of an endogenous biosynthetic gene cluster that includes a native promoter to control expression of the exogenous genes.
Method of Producing Proteins Using a Trichoderma Fungus Strain in Which the CEL1A Gene is Invalidated
The invention relates to the various uses of a fungus strain which belongs to the Trichoderma genus and in which the cel1a gene has been knocked out. The invention relates in particular to a method of producing proteins by a fungus strain which belongs to the Trichoderma genus and in which the cel1a gene has been knocked out, comprising at least two steps: a first step of growth in a batch phase in the presence of at least one carbon growth substrate, and a second step of producing proteins in a fed-batch phase in the presence of a composition comprising at least lactose and a second sugar, the lactose content in the composition representing approximately between 0 and 30% by weight of the total sugar content of the composition, in particular between 5 and 30%.
AGROCHEMICAL ADJUVANTS
A novel agrochemical formulation comprising adjuvants selected from diketopiperazines and an agrochemical active. A concentrate is also provided suitable for forming the formulation. The diketopiperazine provide adjuvancy in the concentrate and agrochemical formulations. There is also provided a method of making the formulation, and use of said diketopiperazines as adjuvants in agrochemical formulations is also provided. A method of obtaining the diketopiperazines from culturing of Metarhizium carneum, strain RKD0578 is also described. The extracted diketopiperazines may be used in a formulation for treating vegetation to control pests, or seed coating. Alternatively the strain RKD0578 itself may be used in a seed coating or in a formulation for treating vegetation to control pests.
