MATTRESS HAVING SELECTABLE PATIENT WEIGHT VALVE, INDUCTIVE POWER, AND A DIGITAL X-RAY CASSETTE

A patient support apparatus may include a foam frame defining a space. A bladder assembly may be positioned in the space. The bladder assembly may include a plurality of foam filled bladders. Each of the foam filled bladders may be interconnected by a manifold. A plurality of mutually exclusively selectable pressure relief valves may be provided to release air from the bladder assembly.

Method for the treatment and prevention of decubitus ulcers for a patient due to interface of the patient with an air-powered low interface pressure overlay

An air inflatable mattress and mattress coverlet are provided for the prevention and treatment of decubitus ulcers (i.e., pressure sores or bedsores). The mattress incorporates a user selectable static or alternating air powered support surface for more uniformly redistributing pressure exerted on a patient's skin. The mattress coverlet encompasses a low air loss feature independent of the mattress's user selectable air powered support surface. Such low air loss feature provides a patient contact surface exhibiting a high moisture vapor transfer ratio in conjunction with a forced air flow to aid in reducing the moisture and heat near the patient's body. Both the mattress and mattress coverlet are driven by an external control system which houses the user controls, as well as the necessary pumps, regulators, and valving.

A bedding system includes a base. A pressure generator is coupled to the base. A spacer is positioned over the base. A coil pack is positioned over the spacer. The coil pack is positioned within a recess of an encasement. A duct includes a first end that is in communication with the pressure generator and a second end that is in communication with the recess. A comfort layer is positioned over the encasement. A cover is positioned over the comfort layer.

A breathable and comfortable inflatable mattress includes a top layer, a surrounding band and a bottom layer, which together define a cavity of the inflatable mattress. The top layer includes a breathable layer and a ticking layer, the ticking layer and the surrounding band are connected by welding or bonding. The breathable layer is arranged on the ticking layer, and the breathable layer is connected to the surrounding band via a sealing layer. The inflatable mattress according to the present invention is replaced the traditional flock/PVC or PVC material with comfortable fabric for the top layer, which can greatly improve comfort and breathability, avoid noise generated by friction between the user's body and PVC, and improve user' s sleep quality, thus meeting needs of users widely.

Collapsible layered cushion

A layered cushion that may be fully disassembled for easy cleaning is disclosed herein. The sleep system is durable and fire retardant. The layered cushion may include a foam layer, a layer of void cells, and a cover. The foam permits fluids to move freely there through and contours to a user's body to maximize comfort and reduce interface pressure. The reticulated foam layer resists compression set and thermosetting. The layer of void cells also permits fluids to move freely there through and provide additional support to the user's body. The individual void cells of the void cell layer are perforated to allow the transmission of fluids there through. The cover couples the other layers together to form the layered cushion and prevents the layers from deteriorating. The cover is removable to permit cleaning each of the layers independently.

TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT BEDDING SYSTEMS

Temperature management bedding systems for mattresses and quilt panels generally include a trilayer of active components including a phase change material applied to a top surface of a flexible substrate thereof, a fire retardant layer underlying the flexible substrate including hydrophilic rayon fibers treated with ammonium polyphosphate; and a vertically oriented fiber batting layer underlying the first retardant layer including an elastomeric binder. The temperature management bedding systems provide heat control and mass transfer of moisture from the bedding surface.

VENTILATED MATTRESS AND BED COMPRISING VENTILATED MATTRESS

A ventilated mattress for a bed minimizes the leakage of external air, having flowed in from the outside, through a portion other than ventilation holes, and thus has improved ventilation performance.
