Method of making a continuous string of pocketed springs
A pocketed spring assembly comprises parallel strings, each string joined to at least one adjacent string. At least some of the strings have springs of different gauge wire and some of the pockets of the strings having springs of different gauge wire are spliced together. At least some of the strings have springs of different geometries and some of the pockets of the strings having springs of different geometries are spliced together. At least some strings may have end sections with springs different than a middle section therebetween, the springs of the end sections being firmer than the springs of the middle section.
Mattress assemblies including a hybrid posture support system
Mattress assemblies include a hybrid posture support system that provide an end user with improved posture support during use, among other advantages. The hybrid posture support system includes a top foam layer including first and second foam portions that are spaced apart and generally correspond to a head/shoulder region and a foot region, respectively, a pocketed microcoil array underlying the top foam layer that is intermediate the first and second foam portions; and an underlying foam layer. The hybrid posture support system can be used in any mattress assembly including mattresses having a coil spring innercore or a foam innercore.
Individually pocketed coil springs with cushioning pads, and pocket spring mattresses with such pocketed coil springs
An individually pocketed coil spring for use in a bedding or seating product, is disclosed, as well as pocket spring mattresses including such pocketed coil springs. The individually pocketed coil spring include: a coil spring having an upper end and a lower end; a casing forming a pocket enclosing said coil spring; and a cushioning pad located above said upper end of the coil spring. The casing provides a first compartment enclosing the coil spring, and a second compartment enclosing the cushioning pad. The first and second compartments are separated from each other.
MATTRESSES WITH MULTIPLE CUSTOMIZABLE AND REPLACEABLE LEVELS AND SECTIONS AND METHODS THEREOF
A mattress including a customizable and replaceable mattress core, two or more customizable and replaceable foam sections, a customizable and replaceable panel and at least one connection device. The two or more customizable and replaceable foam sections are positioned on a surface of the customizable and replaceable mattress core. The customizable and replaceable panel is positioned over the two or more customizable and replaceable foam sections. The connection device has detachably mating connector portions. One of the detachably mating connector portions is secured adjacent at least a portion of an outer periphery of the customizable and replaceable panel. Another of the detachably mating connector portions is secured adjacent at least a portion of another outer periphery of the surface of the customizable and replaceable mattress core. The detachably mating connector portions of the connection device detachably secure the customizable and replaceable panel to the customizable and replaceable mattress core and retain the position of the two or more customizable and replaceable foam sections.
Pocketed foam systems and methods
Example embodiments include a padding system that can include a first pocket assembly, the first pocket assembly including a first pocket, where the first pocket at least partially retains a first padding component, and a second pocket assembly, the second pocket assembly including a second pocket, where the second pocket at least partially retains a second padding component, where the first pocket assembly is coupled to the second pocket assembly with a transition portion.
Furniture construction with elastic or spring modules
Furniture is assembled from elastic modules enabling rapid and convenient assembly and disassembly. The elastic module has a spring, an outer covering layer, and an end member attached to an end face of the outer covering layer. A mattress includes a plurality of individual spring assemblies (145), with each spring assembly including at least one spring (134) and a spring cap (144, 150, 161, 164, 171, 184, 194, 204). Each spring cap has at least one first attachment fitting (168, 178, 174, 186, 196) and at least one second attachment fitting (169, 180, 176, 187) with each first attachment fitting engageable into or onto and removable from a second attachment fitting of an adjoining spring cap. The spring assemblies are attached to each other via the first and second attachment fittings, forming the individual spring assemblies into a spring core. A top pad is positioned on top of the spring core. The mattress can be quickly dis-assembled and stored in a compact space by removing the top pad and separating the spring assemblies from each other.

Mattress assembly with a mattress topper that includes pocketed coil springs and methods of producing the same
A mattress assembly is provided that includes a mattress core having a bottom surface and a top surface opposite the bottom surface, and a mattress topper positioned adjacent to the top surface of the mattress core. The mattress topper includes a plurality of coil springs, an upper fabric layer extending above the plurality of coil springs, and a lower fabric layer extending below the plurality of coil springs. The lower fabric layer is connected to the upper fabric layer around each coil spring such that the upper fabric layer and the lower fabric layer collectively form a fabric pocket encasing each coil spring. The mattress topper further includes a padded layer positioned atop the upper fabric layer, with the padded layer connected to the upper fabric layer by ultrasonic welds and/or tufts. Methods of producing a mattress topper for connection to a mattress core are further provided.
Pocketed spring assembly having dimensionally stabilizing substrate
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs. A dimensionally stabilizing substrate is secured to at least some of the strings on one of the top and bottom surfaces of the strings. A scrim sleet is secured to at least some of the strings on an opposed surface of the strings to maintain the positions of the strings. The dimensionally stabilizing substrate is laterally rigid enough to maintain length and width dimensions of the coil spring assembly. However, the dimensionally stabilizing substrate is flexible enough to allow the pocketed spring assembly to be roll packed for shipping.
