Tilt-tip moldable total care bed
A tilt-tip moldable bed system for the care of immobile patients is provided. The bed system may include a moldable mattress having a casing with a bladder defining an inner volume and a top compliant surface over a top surface of the bladder, the compliant surface configured to conform to a shape of a displacing structure. The bladder may be configured to hold a plurality of beads suspended in a fluid medium. The moldable mattress may be molded while inflated and maintain a resilient shape when evacuated. The system may further include a supporting frame for the moldable support structure having a laterally rigid outer rim with at least one attachment point for the moldable mattress, at least one attachment point for a netted sling, and one or more mounting tracks configured to support at least one peripheral attachment.
Cushion system and method
A closed cushion system including a device for selectively opening a connection between adjacent fixed, pre-filled chambers is set forth. The connection selectively facilitates flow of a fill material between the pre-filled chambers in order to selectively alter the firmness of the pre-filled chambers.
CUSHIONS
A cushion including a pillow portion useable for supporting the head of a user of the cushion and an elongate trunk portion that extends away from the pillow portion and which is usable for supporting the chin of the user. Wherein the pillow portion is shaped so that it is useable to extend from at least a position on the back of the neck of a user whose head is being supported by the pillow portion that is less than three centimetres from the mid-point of the back of the neck to at least a position where it contacts an ear of the user, and wherein in this use of the pillow portion the trunk portion extends away from the pillow portion towards the chin of the user.
COMFORT ITEM COMPRISING FOAM FILLING ELEMENTS
A comfort item (200) has a first volume (202) delimited by an outer boundary, where the first volume (202) includes several foam pieces (100). The foam pieces have a body part (101); several foam arms (102) having a first end and a second end, where the first end is attached to the body part (101), and the second end protrudes away from the body part (101); and several contour recesses (103) between the foam arms (102), wherein the width of the foam arms is greater that the length of the foam arms. Several foam filling elements for such a comfort item are also described. As a result, a comfort item is obtained with a filling providing good filling properties and adding air to the comfort item.
CPAP pillow apparatus and method
A CPAP pillow relies on a shell shaped to provide large reservoirs of fill particles near or against the shoulders of a user and around and under the neck. The system and method uncouple the spring forces supporting a user from the forces used to configure the shape of the pillow in use. Thus, a user can fit the pillow to the body profile in three dimensions with substantially no residual pre-loading to cause discomfort, pressure points, or unsupported regions. The pillow supports, contacts, and cradles the head and neck. It accommodates shoulder intrusion without moving the pillow away from supporting the neck.
INFLATABLE FURNITURE ASSEMBLY SYSTEM
An inflatable furniture system having an inflatable core, a decorative cover, a first attachment mechanism and a second attachment mechanism. The inflatable core has a sealed enclosed region. The decorative cover at least partially covers the inflatable core. The first attachment mechanism is attached to one of the inflatable core and the decorative cover. The second attachment mechanism is attached to one of the inflatable core and the decorative cover to which the first attachment mechanism is not attached. The first attachment mechanism is capable of engaging the second attachment mechanism to retain the decorative cover in a position with respect to the inflatable core.
Tilt-Tip Moldable Total Care Bed

Heat formable patient positioning cushion, method of producing a heat formable patient positioning cushion, and heat formable patient positioning system
A heat formable patient positioning cushion is provided including an impermeable or permeable outer shell; a filler material contained within an interior region defined by the outer shell; and a thermoplastic material applied to the outer shell, to the filler material, or to the outer shell and the filler material. The cushion has a first condition configured to be conformed to the anatomy of a patient in which the filler material moves relatively freely within the interior region defined by the outer shell, and a second condition conformed to the anatomy of the patient in which the filler material is relatively fixed against movement within the interior region defined by the outer shell. Heating and cooling changes the cushion from the first condition to the second condition and reheating permits increased movement of the filler material as compared to the second condition to further conform the cushion to the anatomy of the patient.
NOVEL FUNCTIONALLY SUPPORTIVE PILLOWS AND METHODS OF PREPARATION THEREOF
The present invention is directed to a functionally supportive pillow comprising a dynamically responsive combination of an inner core enclosing a bead material and an outer shell, such that the combination of the inner core with the outer shell creates a dynamic response to applied pressure to the pillow for increased functional support of said pillow.
Body pillow
The body pillow is a pillow that is adapted to facilitate sleeping in a variety of positions. The body pillow comprises a batting, a plurality of pellets and a containment. The batting and the plurality of pellets are contained within the containment. The batting is formed from a first soft material that provides the core cushioning structure of the body pillow. Each of the plurality of pellets is made from a second soft material that is formed in the structure of a pellet. When a body is placed upon the plurality of pellets, as contained within the container, the location of each of the plurality of pellets will shift into a position that provides a contoured support customized to the body.
