A mattress is described, comprising an ergonomic layer made of foam material and a breathable layer made of three-dimensional polymeric material. The ergonomic layer and the breathable layer are mutually coupled. The breathable layer is individually wrapped in a casing made of a three-dimensional breathable fabric. The combination between the breathable layer and the respective casing, which is also manufactured with a three-dimensional breathable type of material, allows to obtain the maximum breathable characteristics for the mattress.

With regard to a care bed provided with a three-dimensional net-like structure made of a thermoplastic resin, an object is to smoothly bend the three-dimensional net-like structure in multiple stages in response to a complicated motion of a bed main body or a user's specific motion. A three-dimensional net-like structure 101 includes a first three-dimensional sparse/dense structure 1 provided as an alternately layered configuration of structural units 1a.sub.1 to 1a.sub.9 that are sparse in an extrusion direction Y and structural units 1b.sub.1 to 1b.sub.8 that are dense in the extrusion direction Y. In this first three-dimensional sparse/dense structure 1, a bulk density .sub.1 of the sparse structural units 1a.sub.1 to 1a.sub.9 is 0.01 to 0.08 g/cm.sup.3 and a bulk density .sub.2 of the dense structural units 1b.sub.1 to 1b.sub.8 is 0.03 to 0.10 g/cm.sup.3. A ratio .sub.2/.sub.1 of the bulk density of the dense structural units 1b.sub.1 to 1b.sub.8 to the bulk density of the sparse structural units 1a.sub.1 to 1a.sub.9 is 1.01 to 5. A length A.sub.1 of the sparse structural units 1a.sub.1 to 1a.sub.9 is 1 to 50 cm, and a length A.sub.2 of the dense structural units 1b.sub.1 to 1b.sub.8 is 3 to 60 cm. A ratio A.sub.2/A.sub.1 of the length of the dense structural units 1b.sub.1 to 1b.sub.8 to the length of the sparse structural units 1a.sub.1 to 1a.sub.9 is 0.1 to 10.

An osmosis membrane is disposed at the boundary between a three-dimensional network structure section and a foam section. The osmosis membrane allows a liquid foam material to permeate. The three-dimensional network structure section is impregnated with the foam material through the osmosis membrane, and subsequently the foam material is solidified, thereby connecting the three-dimensional network structure section and the foam section to each other. The bonded body of the three-dimensional network structure section and the foam section is completed only by disposing the cushion structure component in between the upper mold and the lower mold, and performing a foaming step.

TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT BEDDING SYSTEMS

Temperature management bedding systems for mattresses and quilt panels generally include a trilayer of active components including a phase change material applied to a top surface of a flexible substrate thereof, a fire retardant layer underlying the flexible substrate including hydrophilic rayon fibers treated with ammonium polyphosphate; and a vertically oriented fiber batting layer underlying the first retardant layer including an elastomeric binder. The temperature management bedding systems provide heat control and mass transfer of moisture from the bedding surface.

Synthetic or natural fiber mattress with enhanced compression resistance

A structured fiber product is constructed with fibers oriented primarily in a vertical direction. Fibers made from recycled materials are combined with binder fibers which have a lower transition temperature than the recycled fibers. A three dimensional web is formed from the fibers oriented in a horizontal direction. The web is heated to bind the fibers and cooled to fix the web in a predetermined thickness. Sections of the web are stacked while maintaining substantially parallel orientation of the fibers in the horizontal direction, heated to bind the fibers and cooled to fix a predetermined thickness of the structured fiber product. The structured fiber product is rotated so that the fibers are oriented in the vertical direction. One or more slabs of the structured fiber product with vertically oriented fibers may be configured to form a resilient structure such as a mattress core.
