The modular sleep apparatus includes a customizable mattress pad casing having pockets into which various inserts can be placed. The more the number of pockets, the greater customization the mattress pad allows. The inserts themselves can be of varying thickness, firmness, and material. The inserts can also be placed directly over a conventional mattress and held in place with a fitted sheet. The inserts can also be placed directly into pockets or envelopes in the top layer of a mattress. The mattress pad casing can be pre-assembled with inserts.

The invention relates to a method for producing a viscoelastic damping body (1, 20, 30), comprising at least one spring element (4) and at least one damping element coupled thereto, wherein the method is characterized in that the damping element and optionally also the spring element (4) are produced by means of a 3-D printing method. The invention further relates to a viscoelastic damping body (1, 20, 30) that is or can be produced according to such a method and to a volume body comprising or consisting of a plurality of such damping bodies (1, 20, 30).
LAYERED SLEEP SYSTEM
The present disclosure provides a mattress comprising at least one zonal mattress element a midsection that is firmer than the upper and lower sections and configured to provide support for a hip of a user side sleeping on the mattress and at least one uniform mattress element which provides a neutral posture and may be rearranged to give different users different zonal variations. Furthermore, it discloses a system of the mattress with a pillow to provide a neutral posture or aligned spine to improve both side and back sleeping with neural posture resulting in better sleep, less snoring and less pain.
Modular mattress and bedframe system with surface positioning actuators
The inventive subject matter provides a modular mattress system wherein the mattress surface may be adjusted for positioning of a user's body. The mattress system deploys a number of interconnected mattress cells. The mattress cells may have varying characteristics, and combinations of mattress cells may be interconnected to form a complete mattress. The proximal surface is formed of padding material and collectively form the entire mattress surface when connected. At least one actuator is mechanically coupled to padding material and an actuator controller in communication therewith directs movement of the actuator to position the padding material. A mattress cell communication interface is communicably coupled to the actuator controller and configured to communicably couple with at least one external device.
REARRANGEABLE MATTRESS WITH COVERED LAYERS
Systems and apparatuses include a mattress assembly including a tub including vertically extending rails and a base and defining an interior cavity bound by the rails and the base, a plurality of non-laminated and rearrangeable layers positioned within the interior cavity to provide both support and comfort levels within the mattress assembly, each layer including a layer cover and a layer foam, and a cover system that includes a removable cover allowing selective access to the plurality of layers and the interior cavity and selectively compressing the plurality of layers within the tub.
Slotted Mattress Apparatus
A slotted mattress apparatus for improved foot comfort for stomach sleepers includes a mattress body including a mattress top side, a mattress bottom side, a mattress left side, a mattress right side, a mattress head side, and a mattress foot side. The mattress body comprises a foot slot extending from the mattress top side towards the mattress bottom side to receive a user's feet. A slot insert is selectively engageable within the foot slot. The slot insert conforms to the foot slot and has an insert top side lying coplanar with the mattress top side when engaged.
Pneumatic Haptic Device Having Actuation Cells for Producing a Haptic Output Over a Bed Mattress
Embodiments are directed to a pressure mapping system that includes a sensing pad configured for placement between a user and a bed. The sensing pad can include an array of actuation cells where each actuation cell in the array of actuation cells is configured to actuate in response to a fluid being introduced into the actuation cell. The sensing pad can also include an array of pressure sensors where each pressure sensor in the array of pressure sensors is configured to output pressure measurements. The pressure mapping system can also include a control system that is configured to receive the pressure measurements from the array of pressure sensors, generate a pressure map for the user based on the set of pressure measurements and a position of the pressure sensing cells on the sensing pad, and actuate a subset of the array of actuation cells based on the pressure map.
Bedding System with a CNN Based Machine Vision Process
A bedding system uses a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based machine vision to makes adjustments for comfort and/or support. The machine vision process identifies a body position by using a trained CNN that receives a pressure image and identifies a body position. The body position may be determined by classifying the pressure image into a predetermined body position classification. The machine vision process includes at least one trained CNN that determines joint locations. The machine vision tracks pressure accumulated at joints over time.
Beds
The present invention relates to beds having a support surface defined by a plurality of support members (104, 204, 240). According to some aspects the support members are sprung (104, 204) and the bed includes a damping system (106, 206), for example a damping arm (124), for damping vibrations of the springs (118, 218). According to some aspects the support members (204, 240) have laterally extending pusher members (236, 238) arranged to engage with adjacent support members (204, 240); the pusher members (236, 238) comprising damping material (254). According to some aspects the support members (104, 204) are received by a guide member (320, 420) made up of two parts (320a, 320b, 420a, 420b) arranged to retain a spring by engaging between the coils of the spring (418). The present invention also relates to bed frames comprising a plurality of movable side elements (568, 768, 1068) mounted for movement in a direction substantially normal to the body support surface. The side elements (568, 768, 1068) are resiliently urged towards an unloaded position. The present invention also relates to methods of manufacturing beds.
