A foldable child booster seat based on the origami and popup technique. The booster seat is light and easy to be folded flat into a compact form for storage and transport. The foldable booster seat, comprising: a plurality of rigid substrates, each rigid substrate is interconnected to another by one or more integrated hinges or flexible parts allowing the rigid substrate to fold either inward or outward when folding up; wherein when the foldable booster seat is folded flat, the rigid substrates are stacked together; and wherein when the foldable booster seat is folded up, the rigid substrates are arranged to form the shape of a chair or stool.

The seat includes a backrest, a base, and a harness, such that the harness can removably secure the baby within the backrest and the base of the seat. The frame includes a unitary rod that extends through a perimeter of the seat, and a pair of adjustable hook members. Each adjustable hook member can be widened or narrowed to snugly fit to a sidewall of the bathtub and be secured thereto by friction fit. Upon securement of the adjustable hook members to the sidewall of the bathtub and placement of the baby within the seat, the baby is safely secured to an interior of the sidewall for bathing or recreation.

Once latched, the tray may be slidably positioned relative to the seat while remaining latched thereto. The seat may be movably supported on a frame assembly and a seat positioning system may be included to selectively retain the seat at desired heights on the frame assembly.

The side panels may be connected in an inward-facing position where they cover the cut-outs, or an outward-facing position where they fold down and expose the cut-outs such that a baby's legs may pass through. In some examples, padding or foam is selectively placed within the selectively adjustable side panels and/or the main panel to support the baby in a spread-squat position in the outward-facing position.
