METHOD OF TREATING BOVINE MASTITIS
A method of treating or preventing mastitis in a bovine animal comprising administering to the animal a therapeutically effective amount of particular microbes thereby treating or preventing mastitis in the animal.
METHOD FOR DETECTING HEAVY METAL POLLUTANTS USING A FLUORESCENT MATERIAL FROM BACILLUS ENDOPHYTICUS AND METHOD FOR MAKING
A method for detecting heavy metals using a fluorescent material produced from Bacillus endophyticus such as strain DS43 which is a wild-type or natural isolate from soil in Dammam City, Saudi Arabia. The fluorescent material exhibits fluorescence under UV irradiation at a wavelength of approximately 365 nm which disappears after exposure to heavy metals. A method for culturing Bacillus endophyticus producing the fluorescent material and to methods for extracting this material for use in detecting heavy metals.
PHOSPHATE-SOLUBILIZING MICROBIAL AGENT FOR MAIZE, AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
A phosphate-solubilizing microbial agent for maize is provided. The phosphate-solubilizing microbial agent is obtained by fermentation of a strain CR50; and the strain CR50 is Bacillus stratosphericus (B. stratosphericus), which was deposited in the China Center for Type Culture Collection (CCTCC) on Nov. 10, 2020, with a deposit number of CCTCC M 2020721. The phosphate-solubilizing microbial agent has the ability to solubilize insoluble inorganic phosphorus and insoluble organic phosphorus such as calcium phosphate and calcium phytate, which can increase an available phosphorus content in soil, significantly promote the growth of maize, and increase a maize yield. The phosphate-solubilizing strain also has the ability to produce indoleacetic acid (IAA) and siderophore, and can undergo an agglutination reaction with maize agglutinin due to maize agglutinin affinity. The strain CR50 can colonize at maize roots for a long time under the mediation of agglutinin and stably exert the growth-promoting effect.
Organic Waste Carbonizer
A method for transforming organic waste into carbon using sequential physical and biological degradation, including fermentation, drying under vacuum and elevated temperature followed by heating to a temperature of between 300° C. and 500° C. to promote carbonization and production of charcoal.
Method for producing fermented coffee using enteric bacteria of Kopi Luwak
The present invention relates to a method for producing fermented and vacuum-treated coffee using Kopi Luwak enterobacteria, in which the coffee contains a low concentration of caffeine and a high concentration of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA). According to the present invention, the fermented and vacuum-treated coffee produced using Kopi Luwak enterobacteria according to the present invention has advantages in that it is produced by rapid fermentation, uniquely smells like caramel, chocolate, grass, etc., unlike unfermented green coffee beans, and has a reduced bitter taste and a deep and heavy taste with an appropriate sour taste.
BAKED GOODS
Compositions and method comprising lactic acid-producing bacteria in baked goods.
Planococcus and method for improving fermentation quality of low-salt fish sauce by Planococcus
The present invention discloses Planococcus and a method for improving fermentation quality of a low-salt fish sauce by Planococcus, and relates to the application field of food microbiology technology. The Planococcus strains have been deposited in China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center (CGMCC) under CGMCC NO. 17057, CGMCC NO. 17058, CGMCC NO. 17059, and CGMCC NO. 17060. The production cycle of fermented fish sauce using the Planococcus strains is greatly shortened, and the fermentation temperature is reduced. The fish sauce obtained by this method is transparent brown red, and has the unique aroma of aquatic products without impurities such as suspension or flocculent. The finished fish sauce has low salt content and high amino acid nitrogen content (according to the Chinese fish sauce industry standard, the fish sauce is classified as first-grade fish sauce). The contents of total volatile basic nitrogen and histamine are lower than the national standard.
PAENIBACILLUS STRAINS AND METHODS FOR THEIR USE
The present invention provides a composition comprising a biologically pure culture of a Paenibacillus sp. strain or a cell-free preparation thereof comprising a fusaricidin and a tridecaptin; wherein the fusaricidin is produced with a fusaricidin synthetase gene of fusA encoded by a DNA sequence exhibiting at least 90.5% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3; and the tridecaptin is produced with a nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) gene of triE encoded by a DNA sequence exhibiting at least 90.0% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 7. Also provided are methods of treating an agricultural plant to control a disease and methods of increasing the vigor and/or crop yield of an agricultural plant with the disclosed compositions.
Co-Culture of Myxobacteria and Bacillus for Enhanced Metabolite Production
The subject invention provides microbe-based products and efficient methods of producing them. In specific embodiments, methods are provided for enhanced production of microbial biosurfactants, the methods comprising co-cultivating Myxococcus xanthus and Bacillusamyloliquefaciens. In preferred embodiments, co-cultivation is carried out continuously for an indefinite period of time. Microbe-based products produced according to the subject methods are also provided, as well as their uses in, for example, agriculture, oil and gas recovery, and health care.
BACILLUS BACTERIUM, INTERLEUKIN-22 PRODUCTION INDUCING AGENT, SKIN BARRIER FUNCTION ENHANCING AGENT
