Therapeutic Methods Using Bacterial Strains Which are Capable of Increasing Adenosine Levels
The present invention relates to lactic acid bacterial strains which are capable of producing or inducing the production of adenosine, for use in the production of adenosine in a subject. Therapeutic uses of such strains include the treatment or prevention of diseases associated with adenosine deficiency, for example wound healing. Novel strains are also provided.
COMPOSITIONS AND USES THEREOF FOR TREATING IRRADIATION-INDUCED INTESTINAL DAMAGE
Disclosed herein are gastrointestinal tract (G1) bacteria and methods for treating or preventing an irradiation-induced intestinal damage in a subject, the methods comprising administering a G1 bacterium to the subject, wherein the G1 bacterium comprises a vector that comprises a polynucleotide encoding IL-22 and/or IFN-P, or a functional fragment thereof.
BACTERIA
The present invention relates to bacteria and metabolites thereof that are capable of binding to vaginal cells and producing hydrogen peroxide, their use in probiotic compositions and food products and methods for their selection. The invention also relates to the use of said bacteria, metabolites and probiotic compositions for the prevention and/or treatment of urogenital disorders.
SEROTONIN PRODUCING BACTERIA
The invention relates to selection of bacterial strain for use in treating serotonin deficiency and/or a disease related to serotonin deficiency by culturing bacteria of a lactic acid producing bacterial strain, under aerobic conditions, in a culture medium comprising tryptophan. Any serotonin produced by the bacteria of the lactic acid producing bacterial strain in the culture medium is detected and the lactic acid producing bacterial strain is selected as effective in treating serotonin deficiency and/or a disease related to serotonin deficiency in a subject if serotonin is detected in the culture medium.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus LM1019 strain and composition for preventing and treating obesity or diabetes mellitus comprising same
The present invention relates to a Lactobacillus rhamnosus LM1019 strain (accession number KCCM12308P), and a composition for preventing and treating obesity or diabetes mellitus, comprising the same. Specifically, the Lactobacillus rhamnosus LM1019 strain of the present invention reduces fat cells, neutral fats, subcutaneous fats, and cholesterol, thus having an effect of preventing and treating obesity, and also reduces the blood glucose concentration and the blood insulin concentration, thereby inhibiting insulin resistance and thus having an effect of preventing and treating diabetes mellitus.
COMPOSITION FOR SUPPRESSING FAT ACCUMULATION
A composition comprises, as an active ingredient, a cell body of a lactic acid bacterium belonging to Lactobacillus paracasei, a cultured product or fermented product thereof, or a polysaccharide produced thereby is effective in suppressing fat accumulation and can be used as a food or drink, a medicine, and a feed.
METHOD FOR PROMOTING GROWTH OF PROBIOTIC MICROORGANISM
Disclosed herein is a method for promoting growth of a probiotic microorganism. The method includes cultivating the probiotic microorganism in a growth medium containing a fermented culture of lactic acid bacterial strains that include Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salicinius AP-32 deposited at the China Center for Type Culture Collection (CCTCC) under CCTCC M 2011127, Lactobacillus plantarum LPL28 deposited at the China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center (CGMCC) under CGMCC 17954, Lactobacillus acidophilus TYCA06 deposited at the CGMCC under CGMCC 15210, and Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis BLI-02 deposited at the CGMCC under CGMCC 15212.
Ampicillin resistant texturizing lactic acid bacteria strains
The present invention relates to mutants of lactic acid bacteria which are resistant to the antibiotic ampicillin and which were found to give an increased texture when grown in milk while maintaining the other growth properties of the parent strain. The present invention, furthermore, relates to compositions comprising such mutants, and to dairy products fermented with the lactic acid bacteria resistant to ampicillin.
Propionibacterial cell for organic acid production
Microbial cell lines suitable for industrial-scale production of organic acids and methods of making and isolating such cell lines.
Food composition and pharmaceutical composition with strains of lactic acid bacteria and method for modulating blood glucose
A food composition and pharmaceutical composition with strains of lactic acid bacteria for modulating blood glucose are provided, comprising an isolated lactic acid bacteria strain. The isolated lactic acid bacteria strain is at least one selected from a group including a GL-104 strain of Lactobacillus reuteri (CCTCC NO: M209138), an AP-32 strain of Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salicinius (CCTCC NO: M2011127), a TYCA06 strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus (CGMCC No: 15210), and an MH-68 strain of Lactobacillus johnsonii (CCTCC NO: M2011128), or a combination thereof.
