Compositions comprising Methylobacterium with anti-fungal activity, methods for controlling plant pathogenic fungi, and methods of making the compositions are provided.

GENETICALLY ENGINEERED C1-UTILIZING MICROORGANISMS AND PROCESSES FOR THEIR PRODUCTION AND USE

Described are genetically engineered C1-utilizing bacteria for the preparation of dicarboxylic acids, e.g. succinic acid. For instance, the bacteria comprise a mutation in a gene encoding a tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA) succinate dehydrogenase (Sdh), preferably a mutation which inactivates or reduces Sdh's activity. Processes for the production of the modified bacteria as well as their use in the preparation of succinic acid on a C1-compound as carbon source are also discussed.

INTEGRATED GAS FERMENTATION

Integrated process for providing multiple raw materials to a downstream operation to generate an article of manufacture. Pyrolysis, torrefaction, reforming, partial oxidation, and/or gasification is integrated with gas fermentation. Integrated process converts carbon sources that would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere or discarded as waste to a fermentation product and one or more byproducts, which in turn are provided to a downstream operation to generate an article of manufacture. In certain aspects, the fermentation product may be ethanol, isoprene, butane diol, ethylene. In certain aspects, the byproduct may be metal, metal oxide, char, silica, and or steel. The downstream operation to generate an article of manufacture may be an operation to generate plastic products, rubber products, textiles, clothes, and the like.

High concentration methanol tolerant methanotroph and its application

The present invention discloses a high concentration methanol tolerant methanotroph and its application, a accession number of the methanotroph in China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center being CGMCC No. 9873, deposit date being Oct. 29, 2014, category names being Methylomonas sp. ZR1. The methanotroph Methylomonas sp. ZR1 disclosed by the present invention can grow rapidly by using methane, and can tolerate with high concentration of methanol. The methanotroph Methylomonas sp. ZR1 can use C.sub.1 compounds such as methane and methanol to produce high value-added products such as carotenoids and polysaccharides, which has high application prospect in biological transformation of one-carbon chemistry.
