METHOD FOR PREPARING VANILLIN BY FERMENTATION WITH EUGENOL AS SUBSTRATE
The present disclosure discloses a method for preparing vanillin by fermentation with eugenol as a substrate, preparing vanillin by a mixed fermentation of Penicillium simplicissimum OMK-68 and Bacillus sp. OMK-69, its potency reached 35 g/L, the mass conversion rate of eugenol reaches 83.3%. Penicillium simplicissimum OMK-68 in the present disclosure can use eugenol as a substrate for fermentation to prepare coniferyl alcohol, and its fermentation effect and substrate utilization rate are far better than wild-type Penicillium simplicissimum. The Bacillus sp. OMK-69 in the present disclosure can use coniferyl alcohol as a substrate for fermentation to prepare vanillin, and its fermentation effect and substrate utilization rate are far better than wild-type Bacillus sp.
FILAMENTOUS FUNGAL BIOMATS, METHODS OF THEIR PRODUCTION AND METHODS OF THEIR USE
A novel method of growing fungi is disclosed which uses an engineered artificial media and produces high density filamentous fungi biomats that can be harvested with a minimum of processing and from which fungal products such as antibiotics, proteins, and lipids can be isolated, the method resulting in lowered fungus cultivation costs for energy usage, oxygenation, water usage and waste stream production.

BIO-REFINERY WASTE UTILIZATION FOR ENZYME PRODUCTION USING NOVEL PENICILLIUM FUNICULOSUM MRJ-16 FUNGAL STRAIN
The present invention relates to a method for obtaining a high titer of enzyme mixture comprising cellulases, hemicellulases and -glucosidases in reutilization of waste water generated during hot water extraction of lignocellulosic biomass or biorefinery waste water using Penicillium funiculosum MRJ-16 mutant strain. The cellulose or lignocellulosic biomass used in the fermentation process is selected from the group consisting of rice straw, wheat straw, corn stover, cotton stalk or a combination thereof. The enzyme mixture obtained by the present process is used for the saccharification of acid pretreated lignocellulosic biomass.

METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF FUNGAL MUTANT WITH HIGH HYDROLYTIC ACTIVITY
A method for preparing a hyper-cellulolytic catabolite derepressed mutants of ascomycetes fungus, especially variants of Penicillium funiculosum. Selection media used to isolate such variants include amorphous cellulose and a high concentration of glucose. Cellulase activities of mutant ID-10, in particular such as FPase and -glucosidase were 1.5 times higher than Penicillium funiculosum MRJ-16 (parent). Furthermore, fungal mutant morphology was changed and no pH adjustment was required throughout the enzyme production process.
Pharmaceutical products from fungal strains
Disclosed herein are compositions comprising an isolated cellulose degrading fungus and pharmaceutical substances produced by the fungus.
