Products and Methods for Improving Plant Growth Features

The application concerns methods for improving a plant growth feature, such as biomass, height, yield, and/or emergence, of plants using certain fungi or agricultural active compositions comprising the fungi. Plants and plant parts treated with or heterologously disposed with said fungi or compositions are also disclosed. Further, novel fungal strains, and populations and agricultural active compositions comprising the same are provided.

Bioreactors comprising fungal strains

Disclosed herein are compositions comprising an isolated cellulose degrading fungus. Also disclosed are culture compositions and bioreactor compositions comprising the cellulose degrading fungus. Further described herein are filtration and extraction devices comprising the cellulose degrading fungus. Still further disclosed are bioprocessing facilities for and methods for producing co-products resulting from one or more bioprocesses of the cellulose degrading fungus.

SUBMERGED FERMENTATION PROCESS

The present invention provides submerged fermentation processes of producing one or more polypeptide of interest, the process comprising: a) fermenting one or more microorganism that produces the one more polypeptide of interest in a fermentation broth, and b) adding at least one enzyme to the fermentation broth: OR co-expressing the at least one enzyme in the one or more microorganism and secreting the at least one enzyme into the fermentation broth in an amount sufficient to reduce the viscosity of the fermentation broth, compared to when the at least one enzyme is not added or co-expressed; and, optionally, c) recovering the one or more polypeptide of interest.

Penicillium oxalicum SDF-25 strain and application thereof

Disclosed are a Penicillium oxalicum SDF-25 strain and applications thereof, which relate to the technical field of environmental microorganisms. The Penicillium oxalicum SDF-25 strain has a strain preservation number of CGMCC No. 19272. The Penicillium oxalicum SDF-25 strain can be applied to straw degradation. The Penicillium oxalicum SDF-25 strain provided in the present solution can grow normally at 6 to 37 C. The Penicillium oxalicum SDF-25 strain can secrete a large amount of carboxymethyl cellulase at 10 to 16 C., and still produce enzyme at 6 C. The highest enzymatic activity can reach 993.3 U/mL.

Filamentous fungal biomats, methods of their production and methods of their use

A novel method of growing fungi is disclosed which uses an engineered artificial media and produces high density filamentous fungi biomats that can be harvested with a minimum of processing and from which fungal products such as antibiotics, proteins, and lipids can be isolated, the method resulting in lowered fungus cultivation costs for energy usage, oxygenation, water usage and waste stream production.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing selenoneine that allows production of selenoneine at higher yields, even if an inorganic selenium compound is used as a selenium compound. This purpose can be achieved by a method for producing selenoneine, comprising the step of applying histidine and a selenium compound to a transformant to obtain selenoneine, wherein the transformant has at least one gene selected from the group consisting of a SatA gene, a CysB gene and a MetR gene, and an EgtA gene inserted therein and can overexpress the inserted genes.
