YEAST WITH IMPROVED ALCOHOL PRODUCTION
Described are compositions and methods relating to yeast cells having a genetic mutation that give rise to increased alcohol production. Such yeast is well-suited for use in alcohol production to reduce fermentation time and/or increase yields.
METHODS FOR PRODUCING MONOTERPENE INDOLE ALKALOIDS
The present invention relates to microorganisms for producing monoterpene indole al-kaloids (MIAs) and derivatives thereof de novo, including halogenated MIAs and halo-genated derivatives thereof. Also provided herein are methods for producing MIAs and derivatives thereof de novo, in particular halogenated MIAs and derivatives thereof, in a 5 microorganism, as well as useful nucleic acids, vectors and host cells for performing the present methods.
ENZYMES, CELLS, AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING CIS-3 HEXENOL
The present disclosure relates, in part, to microbial hosts capable of synthesizing cis-3-hexenol, cis-3-hexenal, trans-3-hexenol, trans-3-hexenal, trans-2-hexenal, cis-2-hexenal and related compounds from hexanoic acid and methods for the preparation of cis-3-hexenol, cis-3-hexenal, trans-3-hexenol, trans-3-hexenal, trans-2-hexenal, cis-2-hexenal and related compounds.
Methods of making chitosan
A method for making a chitosan product from yeast cells is disclosed herein. Yeast cells are cultured to form a biomass of yeast cells. The yeast cells are induced to undergo meiosis causing the yeast cells to form asci containing ascospores wherein each ascospore contains a chitosan protective layer in the ascospore wall. Chitosan is extracted from the ascospores, purified to form purified chitosan, and precipitated and dried to form a chitosan product.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR HETEROLOGOUS PRODUCTION OF INDIGOIDINE
The present disclosure relates to heterologous production of indigoidine. Provided herein are a heterologous host cell capable of expressing a polypeptide comprising at least about 70% sequence identity to any one of SEQ ID NOs: 1-5, wherein the heterologous host cell is capable of producing indigoidine; heterologous expression systems comprising the heterologous host cell; and nucleic acids encoding the polypeptide. Also provided are methods of making indigoidine, including cell-free methods, and compositions comprising indigoidine.
SACCHAROMYCES EUBAYANUS MALTOTRIOSE TRANSPORTERS AND USES THEREOF
The present invention provides engineered Saccharomyces eubayanus MalT4 proteins that have maltotriose transport activity. Also provided are polypeptides, constructs, and vectors encoding the engineered MalT4 proteins, as well as S. eubayanus yeast cells that express the engineered MalT4 proteins and methods of using these cells to make a fermentation product, such as a lager.
ENGINEERED MICROORGANISMS WITH ENHANCED PROTEIN EXPRESSION AND SECRETION
The present disclosure provides materials and methods related to the production of peptides and polypeptides from engineered microorganisms. In particular, the present disclosure provides compositions and methods for producing a genetically modified microorganism (e.g., yeast cell) with enhanced protein expression and/or secretion.
