A shelf system (1) comprises: a frame (5) for forming at least one shelf (70), and a plurality of primary and secondary rails (40, 50). The frame comprises a plurality of mounting portions (20, 30), to each of which at least one of a primary rail (40) and a secondary rail (50) is removably mountable to form lanes of different widths. Each lane includes a primary rail on one side and a secondary rail on the other side for supporting and guiding at least one item (60) in the lane, and the primary rails each comprise at least one sensor (700) for sensing the item (60) in the lane.

A shelving system includes a shelving unit with at least one open sidewall that provides access to an interior of the shelving unit and one or more inserts that can be selectively connected to and disconnected from an interior of the unit in order to compartmentalize the interior of the unit. The method includes acquiring a weight of products carried in a container, acquiring a first monitoring image acquired in a monitoring area corresponding to the container, identifying the first monitoring image, and obtaining an identification result, wherein the identification result comprises user identity information when it is determined that the weight of the products is reduced, acquiring a time when at least one product carried in the container is picked up, and determining information of at least one picked-up product, obtaining the user identity information corresponding to the at least one picked-up product, and associating the user identity information with the information of the at least one picked-up product.

A fixture for storage and presentation of goods includes a support structure and a multitude of rod shelves disposed on the support structure. Each of the multitude of rod shelves includes support brackets and rods disposed between the support brackets.
