A method for securing a portable electronic device having a housing to a substantially immovable object utilizing a locking assembly having a security rod or spike formed with an anchoring end separated axially by a protruding end, a locking device with an internal locking mechanism and a cable permanently attached to the locking device at one end, includes several steps. The steps include securedly fixing the anchoring end of the security rod or spike to the portable electronic device upon or through the housing, attaching an other end of the cable to the substantially immovable object and inserting the protruding end of the security rod into an opening in the locking device to actuate the internal locking mechanism and lock the locking device to the captive security rod. Locking the security rod to the locking device concurrently locks the portable electronic device to which it is anchored to the substantially immovable object.

A security apparatus is disclosed herein for securing a secured object to a tabletop of a display table or to another display surface. The security apparatus comprises a housing with a support surface for supporting the secured object. A pair of arm assemblies extend above the support surface and are configured to move between an open position where the secured object may be placed on or removed from the support surface. A mechanical drivetrain is provided for actuating the arm assemblies between the open and closed positions. When the security apparatus is attached to a tabletop of a display table, at least a portion of an actuator of the mechanical drivetrain will extend beneath the surface of the display table, which should be made inaccessible to the public.

The security apparatus comprises a housing with a support surface for supporting the secured object. A pair of arm assemblies extend above the support surface and are configured to move between an open position where the secured object may be placed on or removed from the support surface. A mechanical drivetrain is provided for actuating the arm assemblies between the open and closed positions. When the security apparatus is attached to a tabletop of a display table, at least a portion of an actuator of the mechanical drivetrain will extend beneath the surface of the display table, which should be made inaccessible to the public.

A product-display system for displaying and securing a retail product. The system may include a retainer having a retainer bracket and a retainer body coupled to the retainer bracket. A retaining cable may be coupled to the retainer body at an opening in the retainer body. The retractable reel has a cable that attaches, connects and/or secures the device to the fixture. The cable extends from the retractable reel and/or extends through the post. The post has a recession for receiving a head unit and/or for aligning the head unit and/or the device. A fastener and/or an adhesive connects, secures and/or attaches the device to the head unit. A key disconnects the cable from the head unit.
