A multi-function transaction card may receive, from shelf sensors, first data indicating that items have been removed from shelves by a customer of a merchant, and may receive, from shopping cart sensors, second data indicating that the items have been placed in a shopping cart. The multi-function transaction card may receive, based on the first data and the second data, item data identifying the items placed in the shopping cart, wherein the item data is received from price tags of the items. The multi-function transaction card may store the item data, and may provide, to a transaction terminal of the merchant, the item data identifying the items and customer data identifying the customer. The multi-function transaction card may receive, from the transaction terminal, transaction data identifying a transaction that charges the multi-function transaction card for a total cost of the items.
Vision-based frictionless self-checkouts for small baskets
A vison-based self-checkout terminal is provided. Purchased items are placed on a base and multiple cameras take multiple images of each item placed on the base. A location for each item placed on the base is determined along with a depth and the dimensions of each item at its given location on the base. Each item's images are then cropped, and item recognition is performed for each item on that item's cropped images with that item's corresponding depth and dimension attributes. An item identifier for each item is obtained along with a corresponding price and a transaction associated with items are completed.
Apparatus for retaining collapsible totes
An apparatus is disclosed for retaining a collapsible tote. The apparatus comprises a base, a projecting member having a first end attached to the base, and an engagement member attached to the projecting member at a second end opposite the first end. The engagement member defines one or more slots extending into the engagement member from a top surface. At each slot of the one or more slots, portions of the engagement member that define the slot are configured to, responsive to receiving a respective portion of a handle of the collapsible tote into the slot, apply a force to retain the respective portion of the handle.
Apparatus for retaining collapsible totes
An apparatus is disclosed for retaining a collapsible tote. The apparatus comprises a base, a projecting member having a first end attached to the base, and an engagement member attached to the projecting member at a second end opposite the first end. The engagement member defines one or more slots extending into the engagement member from a top surface. At each slot of the one or more slots, portions of the engagement member that define the slot are configured to, responsive to receiving a respective portion of a handle of the collapsible tote into the slot, apply a force to retain the respective portion of the handle.
Handling device for transporting components of a checkout station
A reusable handling device is specially designed for transporting components of a checkout station to a location within the store where the checkout station is installed. The handling device includes casters and is designed to removably mount to a checkout station component (e.g., bagger) having adjustable feet when there is a need to move or transport the checkout station component (e.g., during installation). Generally, the handling device is configured to extend between and engage two of the adjustable feet of the checkout station component. Two or more handling devices can be mounted to the checkout station component to move the checkout station component during installation and can be removed when finished. After the installation is complete, the handling devices can be returned to the manufacturer or supplier of the checkout station component for use in another installation.

Display with integrated cameras
A display includes two-integrated cameras. A first camera is situated in a top right corner of a front display surface of the display and a second camera is situated in a top left corner of the front display surface. The display is connected to a transaction terminal with the first camera focused on a bagging area associated with the transaction terminal and with the second camera focused on a staging area associated with the transaction terminal. Each camera captures images of items and the item images are streamed over a high-speed display port directly to the transaction terminal. The transaction terminal performs item recognition, item tracking, and auditing on the items based the item images during transaction processing at the transaction terminal.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATED DESIGN OF CAMERA PLACEMENT AND CAMERAS ARRANGEMENTS FOR AUTONOMOUS CHECKOUT
Systems and techniques are provided for determining an improved camera coverage plan including a number, a placement, and a pose of cameras that are arranged to track puts and takes of items by subjects in a three-dimensional real space. The method includes receiving an initial camera coverage plan including a three-dimensional map of a real space, an initial number and initial pose of a plurality of cameras and a camera model including characteristics of the cameras. The method can iteratively apply a machine learning process to an objective function of number and poses of cameras, and subject to a set of constraints, obtain an improved camera coverage plan. The improved camera coverage plan is provided to an installer to arrange cameras to track puts and takes of items by subjects in the three-dimensional real space.

A digital module built-in desk to be placed at a location where business transactions between a clerk and a customer are performed is provided. The desk includes a desk body including an upper plate having a customer-side desk portion providing a space for the customer; a customer digital module mounted in the customer-side desk portion, the customer digital module including a tablet through which information necessary for the business transactions is inputted; and a clerk digital module provided in the side of the clerk-side desk portion, the clerk digital module including a monitor for displaying information necessary for the business transactions.

A multi-function transaction card may receive, from shelf sensors, first data indicating that items have been removed from shelves by a customer of a merchant, and may receive, from shopping cart sensors, second data indicating that the items have been placed in a shopping cart. The multi-function transaction card may receive, based on the first data and the second data, item data identifying the items placed in the shopping cart, wherein the item data is received from price tags of the items. The multi-function transaction card may store the item data, and may provide, to a transaction terminal of the merchant, the item data identifying the items and customer data identifying the customer. The multi-function transaction card may receive, from the transaction terminal, transaction data identifying a transaction that charges the multi-function transaction card for a total cost of the items.
