SYSTEM FOR RETAINING A SUBSTRATE WITHIN A FRAME
A frame assembly includes a frame base and a rear panel including a plurality of side walls that are configured to be received within a plurality of side walls of the frame base. Along an external surface of each side wall of the rear panel there is at least one locking tab that is configured for reception within one corresponding locking opening of the frame base when the rear panel is inserted into the frame base so as couple the rear panel to the frame base in a snap-fitting manner and permit a canvas substrate to be captured therebetween for holding the canvas substrate across a front face of the frame base.
Frame apparatus
A frame apparatus for displaying a flat article and a combined frame apparatus and flat article. In one aspect, the frame apparatus includes an annular display frame defining a rabbet, a stack positioned in the rabbet, and a spacer assembly. The rabbet is defined by a floor and a wall, the wall including a channel. The spacer assembly may have a rigid portion and a compressible portion. The spacer assembly is positioned in the rabbet with the compressible portion of the spacer assembly extending into the channel in the wall to couple the spacer assembly to the annular display frame. The spacer assembly may also be in contact with the stack to hold the stack in the rabbet.
Image display
Image displays are disclosed. An image display may include an image support and a plurality of foldable sections. Each foldable section may have a first segment rotatably coupled to and configured to lock with the image support and a second segment rotatably coupled to and configured to lock with the first segment. The image display may have an open and an assembled configuration. Display faces of the image support, first segment, and second segment may be co-planar in the collapsed configuration. The display faces image support and the second segment may be perpendicular to the display face of the first segment in the assembled configuration.
System for retaining an image within a frame
A spline installation device for use with a spline/rail type frame to assemble the splines to the rails. The device including a base that defines a platform for receiving a frame subassembly; and a plurality of linkages that are disposed about the platform and coupled to the base. Each linkage is configured to move between a first position in which a fence bearing surface thereof is at an angle other than 90 degrees relative to the platform and a second position in which the fence bearing surface is set at an at least substantially 90 degree angle relative to the platform for locking and holding the frame subassembly in place. The linkages further being configured to receive a spline instillation tool for locking the splines in place relative to the rails.
System and method for holding objects on graphics frame
A system for holding a graphics on a graphics frame includes: a plurality of frame sections being assembled to form the graphics frame; a plurality of connectors configured to connect two vertically-arranged frame sections; wherein one of the frame sections includes two retainers received in two end portions of the frame section, wherein each of the retainers has two sliding channels; wherein each of the connectors includes at least two pairs of the protrusions and a receiving cavity for receiving the graphics; wherein one pair of the protrusions are engaged with the two of the sliding channels on one of the two retainers when the other pair of the protrusions are engaged with the two sliding channels on the other one of the two retainers to connect two vertically-arranged frame sections.
Wall Cleat and System for Hanging Items
A frame mounting system for hanging frames on a wall surface includes a wall-mount cleat and a product-side cleat that is integrally-formed in at least one side frame rails of a frame during the manufacture of the frame. The two cleats are sized and shaped to selectively and snugly engage each other. A user simply mounts the wall-mount cleat level to a wall surface and then engages the product-side cleat with the wall mount cleat. An additional feature of the present invention is a flat surface that is formed in the frame rail adjacent to the integrally formed cleat. This flat surface is sized and shaped to receive and support a backing material by either staples or an appropriate adhesive to help protect the rear of the picture or painting.
ANOXIC MICROCLIMATE STORAGE AND DISPLAY DEVICE
An enclosure is provided for displaying artwork, historical documents, or artifacts that require controlled atmospheric conditions. The enclosure is of low cost and is less cumbersome as compared to existing microclimate enclosures. The enclosure is easy to set up, maintain, and monitor. The enclosure has a microclimate hypoxic/anoxic framing that protects against, oxidation of its contents, pests, and microbial growth. The enclosure is suitable for: paintings, works on paper, ephemera, textiles, mineral specimens, archeological metallic artifacts, animal skins and other organic items, rubber and polymers, and items susceptible to insect damage, water staining and tide lines from uncontrolled internal humidity conditions.
CHANGEABLE FRAME
A changeable frame allows exhibits presented therein to be exchanged in a simplified manner. The frame includes a frame element surrounding a frame opening in which the exhibit is visible from an observer side. A recess in the frame element leads from a lateral outer surface to an opposite inner surface of the frame element and opens into the frame opening for insertion of the exhibit into and removal of the exhibit from the frame opening. A drawer slidably mounted in the recess has a receptacle for positioning the exhibit. The drawer is slidable between an insertion position, in which the exhibit is visible in the frame opening, and a removal position, in which the receptacle of the drawer is outside of the frame element for the removal of the exhibit from the receptacle.
PLANAR DISPLAY ASSEMBLY
A planar display assembly is provided with a planar display pane. A frame is provided with a dado sized to receive the planar display pane. A plurality of retainers mounts to the frame about an inner periphery of the frame to retain the planar display pane within the frame. At least one of the plurality of retainers is elastically deformable to deform during installation of the planar display into the frame, and to expand to retain the planar display pane within the frame. A plurality of apertures or a channel may be formed in the frame about the dado. The plurality of retainers may mount to the frame within the plurality of apertures or the channel of the frame to retain the planar display pane within the frame.
