Drinking straw with internal coating
A drinking straw having an internal coating for delivery of an active agent when the straw is used to consume a beverage is provided. The active agent includes sweetener, flavour, a nutrient and/or a pharmaceutical and optionally colour. The coating is prepared by mixing a modified cellulose with water to form a paste or gel. The coating is then used to coat the inside surface of a drinking straw to a thickness of up to 1 mm. The coating is dried to reduce the water content to less than 5% by weight. Liquid drawn through the straw breaks down the modified cellulose releasing the active agent into the liquid, for consumption.
A PAPER STRAW WITH ENHANCED ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES
The present invention is directed to a straw (1) for the consumption of a liquid or semi-liquid edible product from a package (2) wherein said edible product is contained, said straw comprising a hollow elongated channel (3) having two extremities (4), characterized in that it comprises a coating (6) comprising at least one volatile aromatic product, said coating (6) being adapted to release said volatile aromatic product with the air that is mixed to said liquid or semi-liquid edible product, at the time the latter is sipped through said hollow channel (3).
Method for at least partially closing a main opening of a drinking straw
The invention relates to a method for closing the ends of a drinking straw (1) on the basis of paper, comprising the following steps: providing a tubular drinking straw (1) on the basis of paper; cutting to size an end region of the drinking straw (1) so that a tongue-shaped portion (4) is formed; reversing the tongue-shaped portion (4) over the opening (3a) of the drinking straw (1) so that two lateral openings (10) are formed; adhesively bonding the tongue-shaped portion (4) with the outer side of the wall (2) of the drinking straw (1).
Disposable combined squeezer/stirrer/dispenser/brewer device
A disposable packaging form is provided for brewed, hot drinks. The invention allows a user to brew the hot drink, squeeze out the brewed contents, and stir the contents of the hot drink. Each action can be performed multiple times before disposal. In some embodiments, the device of the present invention dispenses sweeteners, creamers, flavorings and condiments. The present invention frees the user of the inconvenience of having to collect, wash, or dispose of the stirrers, squeezers and bags of the hot drink individually.

A device for the metered filling of a drinking straw with a filling material includes a material store as a storage container for the filling material. An opening is present in the base of the material store, the opening discharging from above into a compressed air channel. At least one receiving unit is present for receiving at least one drinking straw, so that the at least one drinking straw is able to be positioned with its upper edge region on the end of the compressed air channel on the air outlet side.

A flavoring reservoir for storing aromatics and for releasing the aromatics to a drink system. The reservoir includes a container which encloses a receiving space with a wall. The wall includes at least one air inlet opening and at least one air outlet opening. The reservoir includes a substrate material loaded with an aromatic and arranged in the receiving space. The aromatic is releasable to air that flows in through the air inlet opening, past the substrate material and out through the air outlet opening. The reservoir has an annular shape with the receiving space arranged around a central aperture. A dividing wall is arranged in the receiving space. The air inlet opening is arranged in a region adjoining the dividing wall on a first side thereof. The air outlet opening is arranged in a region adjoining the dividing wall on a second side thereof opposite the first side.
