INTERLOCKING CARPET TILE
The invention relates to a flat woven carpet tile (1) with a warp direction and a weft direction. The carpet tile (1) has three or more edges extending along a circumference of the carpet tile. The carpet tile comprises a plurality of indentations (12) and protrusions (13) along all edges. The indentations (12) and protrusions (13) are shaped, dimensioned and located so that the carpet tile (1) is adapted to be joined with abutting identically shaped carpet tiles by mutual interlocking of pairs of mating indentations and protrusions along all the edges in order to form a seamless and coherent carpet. At least some of the protrusions (13) comprise transversely extending gripping elements (14) and the mating indentations (12) comprise corresponding transversely extending notches (15). The gripping elements (14) and notches (15) are dimensioned so that a good interlocking is ensured even if a pulling force is applied in a plane of the carpet tiles in a direction in which the pulling force would otherwise pull the carpet tiles apart. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing such a carpet tile, and in particular a method comprising use of laser cutting.
Floor Covering Apparatus
A floor covering apparatus is provided to enable the easy laying, relaying and rearranging of a protective floor covering while providing for improved customization. The apparatus comprises a rigid, substantially planar base having an upper face, a lower face, and a perimeter defining a two-dimensional shape; a rigid edge portion extending from the upper face of the base and defining a depth, wherein the depth is a distance between the upper face of the base and an uppermost surface of the edge portion; wherein the floor covering apparatus is arranged to tessellate with at least one other such floor covering apparatus. The apparatus aims to provide a modular floor covering apparatus with improved structural and functional properties compared with currently available solutions.
MODULAR MAT SYSTEM, MAT MODULES AND ASSOCIATED CONNECTION METHODS
A mat system is made up of multiple mat modules with interlocking features that allow for separate mat modules to be assembled into different patterns or shapes to cover larger areas as an area mat, define long pathways such as in hallways and customize the shape of the mat may be used to better fit the specific location. The mat modules are secured to each other to provide larger mat systems with a safer and better-looking transition. The mat modules are constructed such that there is a first connecting arrangement and a second connecting arrangement. When the mat modules are assembled, the first connecting arrangement on one mat module will assemble to the second connecting arrangement and an adjacent mat module to provide a secure and seamless connection between the mat modules. These connecting features can be integral to the mat modules or separate pieces.
Floor matting
Floor mats comprising two layers bonded together with an undulating boundary between them. The surface color and/or surface texture of the first layer being different from the surface color and/or surface texture of the second layer. The mats having an interlocking periphery boundary adapted so the mats can be interlocked with adjoining mats to form a continuous planar mat flooring.
Tufted carpet
A tufted carpet comprising a secondary backing which defines a volume being a parallelepiped having three pair of parallel faces, a first pair of parallel faces defining a upper surface of the secondary backing and a lower face of the tufted carpet, at least a second pair of parallel faces being inclined with respect to the first pair of parallel faces under an angle ?1 less than 90?, preferably in the range of 10 to 87?, the angle being the smallest angle measured between the planes defining the first pair of parallel faces and second pair of parallel faces.
Floor mat with both interlocking and snap fit features
A floor mat includes a first section, a second section, an interlocking feature and a snap fit feature. The first section includes a flap. The interlocking feature and the snap fit feature connect the flap of the first section with the second section.
FOAM MAT
A two layer foam mat is described. The raw materials for each layer are separately mixed and heated in different batches, and separately pressed through heated rollers to form a plurality of sheets. One or more sheets from each batch are stacked together in a press and heated above a foaming temperature to permit the stacked sheets to foam and expand. The press restricts the sheets from vertical expansion while allowing horizontal expansion. Once the sheets are foamed, a series of alternating teeth and receiving slots can be cut around the boundary of the mat to form an interlocking peripheral wall. The layers preferably have the same chemical composition after foaming, even though the layers are formed from different batches and may have different colors and/or textures.
INTERLOCKING MODULAR MAT WITH SPONGE INSERT
An interlocking modular mat having four sides has female connectors on two sides and male connectors on the other two sides so that the modular mat can interlock with an adjacent mat and its connectors. The modular mat is configured with a plurality of structures surrounding a periphery of a top portion of the mat. The plurality of structures in combination with an underside of the top portion of the mat form a cavity. A sponge insert is configured to fit in the cavity and have a height such that a portion of the sponge insert extends from a bottom side the mat body. With the sponge insert extending beyond the bottom side of the mat body, the sponge insert bottom face generally become the supporting bottom of the modular mat to provide a more cushioned feel for a mat user.
Flooring System
This invention relates to a flooring system comprised of a plurality of washable, multi-component floor mats. The floor mats contain a textile component and a base component. The textile component and the base component are attached to one another by a variety of mechanisms, including magnetic attraction. The magnetic attraction is provided by incorporation of magnetic particles in both the textile and base components. The textile component is designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications in areas such as building entryways.
